Turn on an ARK active event on your ARK: Survival Evolved server by adding a launch command such as -ActiveEvent=ARKaeology to Config.bat in the control panel, then saving and starting the server.

An ARK event, or its colour palette on wild creatures, can run on your own ARK: Survival Evolved Server whenever you like. You pick the event with one command line option.

How to enable an ARK active event

  1. Stop your server.
  2. Navigate to Configuration Files.
  3. Edit Config.bat.
  4. Add the following command to the custom outline box of your Config.bat: -ActiveEvent=ARKaeology. The server needs a restart for it to take effect.
  5. Save and start the server.

ARK active event names

ARKaeology is the example event. The official ARK wiki lists these values for -ActiveEvent=:

  • ark7th
  • ARKaeology
  • birthday
  • Easter
  • FearEvolved
  • ExtinctionChronicles
  • PAX
  • Summer
  • TurkeyTrial
  • vday
  • WinterWonderland
  • None (no event)

Only one event can be specified and active at a time. To swap events, replace the name after -ActiveEvent=, save and restart the server. Source: ARK wiki, Server configuration.
