Want cross ARK travel between your ARK: Survival Evolved servers? Open a support ticket and our team sets up the cross travel cluster for you. Just have your servers saved and stopped first.

A cluster links your ARK Survival Evolved servers, so survivors can take their character, items and dinos from one map to another, for example from The Island to Extinction.

How to set up cross ARK travel on your ARK servers

  1. Save each server you want in the cluster, for example with the SaveWorld RCON command (see how to execute ARK RCON commands from the control panel).
  2. Stop each of those servers with the STOP button in the game panel.
  3. Open a support ticket in our support system and tell us which servers you want linked. Our team will set up cross travel clusters for you.

(Please have your servers saved and stopped ready for us to cluster)

Keep the servers stopped until our team confirms in the ticket that the cluster is ready, then start them again.

How players travel between the servers

Once the servers are clustered, survivors upload their character, items and dinos at an Obelisk or a Tek Transmitter on one map, then join the other server and download them there.

Want to limit what can cross between maps? ARK has the settings PreventDownloadSurvivors, PreventDownloadItems, PreventDownloadDinos, PreventUploadSurvivors, PreventUploadItems and PreventUploadDinos in the [ServerSettings] section of GameUserSettings.ini. Edit them under Configuration Files with the server stopped, or mention what you want in your ticket.

ARK cluster questions

What is cross ARK travel?

Cross ARK travel lets survivors move their character, items and dinos between ARK: Survival Evolved servers that are linked in a cluster. They upload at an Obelisk or Tek Transmitter on one map and download on the other.

How do I get an ARK cluster on my GTX servers?

Save and stop the servers you want to link, then open a support ticket telling us which servers they are. Our team sets up the cross travel cluster for you.

Why do my servers need to be saved and stopped?

Saving first makes sure no progress is lost, and the servers have to be stopped while our team links them. Run the SaveWorld RCON command, then press STOP in the game panel.

Want your own ARK servers to cluster? See ARK: Survival Evolved server hosting.
