Important Notes Before Installing Mods
⚠️ Before installing mods, please read the following notes carefully:
- Always read the mod description and instructions on the Steam Workshop page.
- Some mods have known incompatibilities with other mods or specific game versions.
- Make sure the mods are compatible with the Project Zomboid version your server is running.
- Mods with multiple branches or variants usually allow only one branch to be loaded at a time.
- Never enable multiple branches unless explicitly stated as supported by the mod author.
How to Install Steam Workshop Mods & Maps
- Stop your server.
- Go to the Steam Workshop button in your game panel.
- Find the mods or maps you want to install.
- Always read the mod description and installation instructions carefully.
- Install the selected mods or maps.
- Start your server.

ℹ️ Automatic Configuration:

- Map spawn regions are generated when supported by the installed map.
- Duplicate or invalid entries are automatically prevented.
How to Replace or Add Mod Branches / Variants
Some mods include multiple branches or variants, such as vehicle mods with different skins or alternative versions.
By default, the installer loads the first available branch. Information about additional branches is automatically added as comments inside the configuration file for future use.
- Stop your server.
- Go to the Configuration Files section.
- Edit the GTXGaming.ini file.
- Locate the
Mods=line.
If one of the installed mods supports multiple branches or variants, you will see a commented line showing the available options, similar to the example below:

- Edit the
Mods=line to replace or add the desired branch or variant, keeping the same format. - Ensure that only supported branches are enabled at the same time.
- Start your server.
⚠️ Enabling an unsupported or incorrect branch may prevent the server from starting. Always verify the mod documentation before making changes.
