7 Days to Die pregen worlds come with your server: pick the PREGEN world name for your game version, set it in serverconfig.xml and let the map generate on the first start.
7 Days to Die ships with pre-generated worlds you can use straight away. Stable and experimental versions name them differently, so check the list below and use the names that match the version you have installed. Not sure which version that is? Type the name exactly as the world is called, capitals included. Names can change between game builds (the screenshot below, for example, loads Pregen04kA). If a world won't load, look at the world folders your version includes in Data/Worlds with the File Manager, or open a support ticket.
Load a pregen world
- Stop the server, go to Configuration Files and use Config Editor on
serverconfig.xml. - Scroll to [Map Settings] and set Game World to Pregen/Custom.
- In both the Pregen/Custom World Name and Game Name fields, type the name of the pregen world you want to load. Type the same name in both fields.
- Click Save & Exit, then Start your server.
First start: let the map generate
WARNING! The first start can take up to 1 hour while the map is fully generated. Don't stop the server or the map will be corrupted and you'd need to start the generation again.
- Follow the progress with the Web Console button.
- While the world is generating, you can ignore the message
[GSM] GameSparks Connected. - Once the world is generated, the server says
GameServer.LogOn successful. From then on the server is online. - Check the Activity and Stats button for more information and to see if your server is querying.
Pregen world questions
What are the 7 Days to Die pregen world names?
It depends on your game version. Version 1.0 uses names like Pregen04k1 to Pregen10k4 (4k, 6k, 8k and 10k sizes), A20 uses PREGEN6k, PREGEN8k and PREGEN10k, and A19 or older uses PREGEN01, PREGEN02 and PREGEN03.
How long does a pregen world take to generate?
The first start can take up to 1 hour. Don't stop the server during this time, or the map gets corrupted and generation has to start again. The world is ready when the Web Console shows GameServer.LogOn successful.
Can I use my own world instead?
Yes. Upload your own save or world to the server, as explained in How to upload your own save to your 7 Days to Die server.
