Load the ARK Genesis 2 map on your ARK Survival Evolved server: stop it, run a Steam Update, pick Genesis Part 2 (NEW) in Config.bat and start it again. The map needs around 14GB of RAM.
Genesis Part 2 is a big map. Check your RAM package before you switch your ARK Survival Evolved server over to it.

How to load the ARK Genesis 2 map
- Stop the server.
- Run the Steam Update.
- Go to Configuration Files, edit the
Config.batfile and select Genesis Part 2 (NEW) from the map list. - Start the server. Give it time: this map uses 14GB RAM and takes more time to load.
Troubleshooting
The server is not starting at all
- A) You are not waiting long enough. This map uses 14GB of RAM and takes more time than normal to fully load.
- B) You have some mods that are not compatible with this new map. Go to
GameUserSettings.ini, remove all mods from theActiveMods=list and try to start the server again. - C) Your RAM package is not enough to run this map. This map uses 14GB of RAM: if you have the basic 5GB package, the server might not be able to fully load the map.
The server is starting but showing 70/70 player slots
- A) The Steam Update was not done correctly and map files are missing. You can confirm the server has the map files by checking inside the folder
\ShooterGame\Content\: you should see aGenesis2folder. - B) You have something added in the Custom Map field. The Custom Map field needs to be wiped (empty), as shown in this picture: https://www.gtxgaming.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/load-genesis-part-2-map-ark-survival-1.png
New map and some Workshop mods
At this stage we don't know exactly which mods are or aren't working with this new map. If you are having issues with mods, try to disable the ones that are giving problems, and check the mod's Workshop page to see if the mod dev is giving any information about the new map, or if anyone in the comments is reporting issues with it.
