In this guide, we going to cover how to add Workshop maps to your Team Fortress 2 dedicated server mapcycle, how to change your starting map to a workshop one, and to finish, how to change the map on the console using RCon.

 

For this guide, we are going to use the 2Fort Classic REDUX map as an example https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3345507915 for this guide, we are going to need the Workshop ID of this map, which is 3345507915

 

HOW TO ADD A WORKSHOP MAP TO MAPCYCLE.TXT

  1. Stop your server
  2. Go to the Configuration Files button and edit mapcycle.txt file with TEXT EDITOR option
  3. Add the workshop map to the list using the following code: workshop_3345507915
  4. Start your server

The map will now show on the voting list after the round ends.

 

HOW TO CHANGE THE STARTING MAP TO A WORKSHOP MAP

  1. Stop your server
  2. Go to the CommandLine Manager button, then under the Custom Commandlines tab create a New one
  3. Under Startup Map field type the following code: workshop/3345507915
  4. Press Save and then press Select in the end
  5. Start your server

 

HOW TO CHANGE THE MAP ON THE WEB CONSOLE RCON

  1. Start your server
  2. Go to the Server Details button and copy the RCON Password
  3. Go to the Web Console button and type your RCON Password
  4. Type the code changelevel workshop/3345507915
  5. Check on the Activity & Stats button to confirm if map has changed
