SRV Record Explained

So what is an SRV record?

An SRV record is a special type of A record that means you do not need to enter a port. Let's say that you have an Ark server with the IP and port of 194.147.122.177:27215.

So it can be hard or impossible to remember the IP address of your server. That is where an SRV record comes in extremely handy. It means you can just type in the address to connect to your server rather than remembering a long IP and port.

gtx.arkserver.pro now points to 194.147.122.177:27215

So now you only need to remember gtx.arkserver.pro
