Add mods to your Foundry server manually: subscribe on the Steam Workshop, copy the downloaded mod folders from your PC and upload them to a Mods folder on the server.
Notice: if the Mods folder is already present on the server, navigate inside and delete the modlist.json file before uploading any mods.
How to add mods to your Foundry server
- Navigate to the Steam Workshop for Foundry in your Steam client (direct link if you use Steam in your web browser).
- Find a mod you want to use and subscribe to it.
- Once subscribed and the mod has downloaded, navigate to the Steam Library
steamappsfolder. You should see the folderscommon,downloadingandworkshop: you need theworkshopfolder. - Inside the
workshopfolder, navigate to thecontentfolder and then open the folder983870. Inside this folder are your mods. - Now, on the game panel, navigate to the File Manager, create a folder called
Modsin the root of the file manager and navigate inside. This is where you upload the mods from your local PC to the server.

Each mod sits in its own numbered folder inside 983870, named after its Workshop ID. That number also helps you tell the mods apart.

How do I add mods to my Foundry server?
Subscribe to the mod on the Foundry Steam Workshop, open steamapps\workshop\content\983870 on your PC and upload the mod folders to a Mods folder in the root of your server's File Manager. If Mods already exists, delete modlist.json inside it first.
Where does Steam save Foundry Workshop mods on my PC?
In your Steam Library folder under steamapps\workshop\content\983870. 983870 is Foundry's Steam app ID.
What if the Mods folder is already on my server?
Don't create a second one. Navigate inside the existing Mods folder and delete the modlist.json file before uploading any mods, then upload your mod folders there.
