Connect to your VPS server with Remote Desktop Connection on Windows (username Administrator) or PuTTY on Linux (username root), using the login details from your welcome email.

How to connect to your VPS server

  1. Open Windows Remote Desktop Connection on your PC.
  2. Look up the login details from your welcome email, using username Administrator for Windows.
  3. If using a Linux operating system, the username will be root and you use a program called PuTTY.

Windows VPS: Remote Desktop Connection

  1. On your PC, press the Windows key, type Remote Desktop Connection and open it.
  2. In Computer, enter the IP address from your welcome email and click Connect.
  3. Sign in with the username Administrator and the password from your welcome email.

Linux VPS: PuTTY (SSH)

  1. Download and open PuTTY.
  2. In Host Name (or IP address), enter the IP address from your welcome email, make sure SSH is selected and click Open.
  3. Log in as root with the password from your welcome email. The password doesn't show while you type: that's normal.

Your welcome email holds all the login details you need. Keep it safe, and never share your VPS password with anyone.
