Run tracert in the Windows command prompt (cmd) to see the route from your PC to your server: type tracert followed by your server's IP, wait for it to finish and send us every line.
A traceroute shows every network hop between you and your game server, and how long each one takes. It helps our team find where lag or connection drops start.
How to run tracert in the Windows command prompt
To run traceroute on Windows:
- Open the command prompt:
- Windows 7: go to Start › Run, type
cmd.exeand press Enter. - Windows 10: search for
cmd.exe, then right-click the Command Prompt app and choose Run as administrator. Windows 11 works the same way.
- Windows 7: go to Start › Run, type
- In the command prompt, type the command below with your server's IP address in place of
YOURSERVERSIP, then press Enter:tracert YOURSERVERSIP - You may have to wait up to a minute or more for the test to complete.
- Send us the complete results (every line) for analysis, in a support ticket.
Use only the IP address, without the port. To copy the results, select all the text in the window with your mouse and press Ctrl + C, then paste it into your ticket.
