Add items to the Exile traders on your Arma 3 Exile server in the mission file's config.cpp: list each item with its quality and price in CfgExileArsenal, then add it to a trader category.

Adding items to the traders is all done within the mission file's config.cpp file. For this example, we will be adding CUP_arifle_AK107, CUP_arifle_AK107_GL and CUP_arifle_AK74 to the traders.

There are 2 sections you need to look for:

  • class CfgExileArsenal
  • class CfgTraderCategories

Your mission file is a .pbo in the mpmissions folder. To open config.cpp, unpack it with PBO Manager, then repack and upload it when you are done: see How to edit your mission file using PBO Manager. Stop the server before you upload it, and keep a backup of the original file.

Add items to the Exile traders: class CfgExileArsenal

In this section, you need to list every single item you want in the traders along with the item quality and price.

  1. Search for Exile_Uniform_BambiOverall and replace the whole line with the following.
    class Exile_Uniform_BambiOverall { quality = 1; price = 1; sellPrice = 1; };

    ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
    // Mod Items
    ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
    class ITEM_CLASSNAME { quality = 1; price = 20; };
  2. Replace the ITEM_CLASSNAME with the class name of the item you want to add, for example CUP_arifle_AK107. Also, set the quality and price you want the item to have.
  3. Add a new line for each additional item you want to add and set the ITEM_CLASSNAME, quality and price.
    ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
    // Mod Items
    ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
    class CUP_arifle_AK107 { quality = 1; price = 20; };
    class CUP_arifle_AK107_GL { quality = 1; price = 20; };
    class CUP_arifle_AK74 { quality = 1; price = 20; };

Put the items in a trader category: class CfgTraderCategories

This section controls what category the item will be displayed in. As we are using an assault rifle in the example, we need to add it to the class AssaultRifles category. If you are adding a different item, make sure you add it to the correct category.

  1. Search for "class AssaultRifles". You should now see this:
    class AssaultRifles
    {
    name = "Assault Rifles";
    icon = "a3\ui_f\data\gui\Rsc\RscDisplayArsenal\itemacc_ca.paa";
    items[] =
    {
    "arifle_Katiba_C_F",
    "arifle_Katiba_F",
  2. For each item you want to add to the category, add a new line with the ITEM_CLASSNAME:
    class AssaultRifles
    {
    name = "Assault Rifles";
    icon = "a3\ui_f\data\gui\Rsc\RscDisplayArsenal\itemacc_ca.paa";
    items[] =
    {
    "arifle_Katiba_C_F",
    "arifle_Katiba_F",
    "CUP_arifle_AK107",
    "CUP_arifle_AK107_GL",
    "CUP_arifle_AK74",

Each class name goes in quotes and ends with a comma, just like the lines already in the list.

Trader questions

How do I add items to the Exile traders?

Edit config.cpp in your mission file. List each item with its quality and price in class CfgExileArsenal, for example class CUP_arifle_AK107 { quality = 1; price = 20; };, then add its class name to the right category in class CfgTraderCategories.

Which category should I add my item to?

The category that matches the item type. Assault rifles go in class AssaultRifles; for other items, find the matching class in CfgTraderCategories and add the class name to its items[] list.

Do I need both sections?

Yes. CfgExileArsenal sets the quality and price of the item and CfgTraderCategories decides where the trader shows it. Add every item to both.
