Add an ATLAS custom map to your server: download your ServerGrid.json, edit it in the ServerGridEditor, then upload the new grid file and map jpg files with the File Manager.

Make sure you have uninstalled the default map via the Mod Manager and installed a custom map size of your choice before proceeding.

Create your ATLAS custom map

You build the map on your own computer with the official ServerGridEditor from Grapeshot Games, starting from the grid file that is already on your server.

  1. Press STOP to stop the server.
  2. Log in to your control panel: Game Panel.
  3. Open File Manager and navigate to /ShooterGame.
  4. Download your ServerGrid.json file, then upload (open) it in your ServerGridEditor.
  5. Make some changes to your map to your liking.
  6. Click Export/Local Export All (the Export menu, then Local Export All). This saves the new ServerGrid.json and the map jpg files on your computer.
  7. Done. Your custom map is ready to upload.

The menu wording depends on your ServerGridEditor version. If you don't see Local Export All, look under the Export menu for the option that exports everything (the grid file and the images).

Upload the custom map to your server

  1. Log in to your control panel: Game Panel.
  2. Open File Manager and navigate to /ShooterGame.
  3. Upload your new modded ServerGrid.json.
  4. Navigate to /ShooterGame/ServerGrid and delete all the jpg files.
  5. Upload your new map jpg files.
  6. Press START to start the server.
  7. Done. Your ATLAS server now runs your custom map.

Always make sure you have made changes to the default map and not one you have downloaded from somewhere else, as you may need to configure ports that way.

Take a backup before you swap the grid, so you can roll back if something goes wrong: see How to back up your game server.

ATLAS custom map questions

How do I add an ATLAS custom map to my server?

Stop the server, download ServerGrid.json from /ShooterGame, edit it in the ServerGridEditor and export it. Then upload the new ServerGrid.json to /ShooterGame, delete the old jpg files in /ShooterGame/ServerGrid, upload your new map jpg files and start the server.

Can I use an ATLAS map I downloaded from somewhere else?

It's best not to. Edit the default map from your own server instead, because a map from somewhere else may need its ports configured to match your server.

Why do I delete the old jpg files?

The jpg files in /ShooterGame/ServerGrid are the map images for your grid. Deleting the old ones and uploading the files from your export makes sure the map images match your new ServerGrid.json.
