Add Steam Workshop mods to your Avorion server by listing their Workshop IDs in modconfig.lua. Players then download the mods automatically when they join.
How to add Workshop mods to your Avorion server
- Stop your server: press STOP in the game panel.
- Go to Configuration Files and edit the
modconfig.luafile with the Text Editor option. - Add the mod IDs in the following format. Don't add a comma in the last line.
mods = { {workshopid = "1691539727"}, {workshopid = "1691591293"} } - Save the file and start the server.
The Workshop ID is the number at the end of the mod's Steam Workshop page address, after ?id=. Replace the example IDs above with your own and add one line per mod.
Mods players don't need to download
Some mods are not required for players to download, like UI mods. You can list them under the allowed section: all mods listed there will not be downloaded by players. Follow the example below:

}Use workshopid in the mods section and id in the allowed section, exactly as in the examples. A missing bracket or quote stops the file from loading, so check it carefully before you start the server.

How do I add Workshop mods to my Avorion server?
Stop the server, open modconfig.lua in Configuration Files with the Text Editor, add each mod as {workshopid = "ID"}, inside the mods list (no comma after the last one), save and start the server.
Do players have to subscribe to the mods?
No. Players download the server's mods when they join. Mods you list under allowed are not downloaded by players.
My server won't start after adding mods. What now?
Check modconfig.lua for a typo, a missing bracket or a comma after the last line. Then check the Log Viewer for the mod that failed and remove it from the list.
