Conan Exiles server crashing? The usual causes are in-game bugs and mods. If it won't come back after a crash, give it time to boot, then roll back the database with Rollback Server.
Why your Conan Exiles server is crashing
Your server can crash for different reasons. The most common ones are Conan Exiles in-game bugs and mods. The game is still being developed (it left early access in 2018 and still gets regular updates), and adding mods to it can cause more instability, especially right after a game update.
Server not coming back after a crash? Wait first
In the meantime, if your server is not getting back up after the crash, follow these instructions:
- Be sure you are waiting long enough. Some Conan servers can take 3 to 10 minutes to fully boot, depending on how big your database already is.
Fix a corrupted database with Rollback Server
If your server is not getting online after waiting the recommended time, it could be due to a corrupted database. Try the following:
- Stop your server.
- Press the Rollback Server button in the game panel.
- Choose a previous backup to roll back to, from 1 to 100: 1 is the most recent backup and 100 the oldest one.
- Start your server, wait for it to go online and test it.
Try to roll back different database numbers if the first one did not bring your server back online.
A rollback replaces your current world with the older copy. Anything built or gained after that backup is lost, so start with 1 and only go further back if you need to.
Conan Exiles server crash questions
Why does my Conan Exiles server keep crashing?
The most common causes are in-game bugs and mods, especially mods that haven't been updated after a game update. If the server won't come back online, wait 3 to 10 minutes for it to boot, then use Rollback Server to load an earlier copy of the database.
How long does a Conan Exiles server take to start?
Some Conan servers take 3 to 10 minutes to fully boot. The bigger your database, the longer it takes.
Will a rollback delete my progress?
You lose what happened after the backup you pick. Rollback 1 is the most recent copy, so start there to lose as little as possible.
