Connect to your GTX Gaming game server with SFTP to upload worlds, saves, mod packs and big config folders. One click in the game panel opens WinSCP, or you can use FileZilla or any SFTP app with your game panel password.
On this page
What you need
| Detail | Where to find it |
| Address and port | Next to SFTP INFO under Connection & Controls in the game panel, for example 203.0.113.10:8822 |
| Username | Your game panel username |
| Password | Your game panel password (see below) |
| An SFTP app | WinSCP (Windows, recommended) or FileZilla (Windows, Mac, Linux) |
Only changing a setting or uploading one small file? The File Manager in the game panel does that in your browser, no app needed. See How to access your server files and folders.
Install WinSCP
- Go to the official WinSCP website: winscp.net.
- Press the green Download Now button.
- Install it with the default options.
Find your SFTP password
Your SFTP password is the same as your game panel password. If you've changed your game panel password, use the new one. If you haven't, you'll find it in the Client Area:
- Log in to the Client Area and go to Services › My Services.
- Click the server you want to connect to.
- Copy the Default Password field.

Connect in one click from the game panel (recommended)
- Open your server in the game panel.
- Click the address next to SFTP INFO.
- Let your browser open WinSCP.
- Enter your SFTP password when WinSCP asks for it.

Connect with FileZilla or any SFTP app
- Open your server in the game panel and press copy next to SFTP INFO.
- Open your SFTP app and paste the address into the Host field. In FileZilla, put
sftp://in front of the IP and enter the port from the panel (the number after the colon) in the Port field. - Enter your username and password and connect.

Some older servers show FTP INFO instead of SFTP INFO. In that case, copy the FTP address and connect the same way, choosing plain FTP in your app.
Blocked file types
For security, these file types can't be uploaded over SFTP or FTP:
.exe.bat.cmd- on some games,
.dll
If a mod or tool really needs one, open a ticket and tell us which file and why.
Troubleshooting
My SFTP login is refused. What should I check?
Use the password you log in to the game panel with. If you changed it, the Default Password in the Client Area is out of date. Forgot it? Reset it with game panel password recovery. Also check you are connecting with SFTP (not FTP) and on the port shown in the panel.
The connection times out. What now?
Make sure you are using the SFTP port from the panel, not the game port. Some work, school or public networks block SFTP, so try another connection such as your home internet or a phone hotspot. Still stuck? Open a ticket with the address you're connecting to.
Should I stop the server before uploading?
Yes, for saves, worlds and config files. A running server can overwrite your upload or corrupt the save. Press STOP, upload, then press START.
