This guide will help you how to load the Genesis Part 2 Map on your ARK Survival Evolved server.
!WARNING!
THIS MAP USES AROUND 14GB OF RAM WITHOUT MODS OR PLAYERS, IF YOU HAVE THE BASIC 5GB RAM PACKAGE YOU MUST UPGRADE IT BEFORE CHANGING THE MAP OR THE SERVER MIGHT NOT FULLY LOAD DUE TO INSUFFICIENT RAM.
HOW TO LOAD THE NEW MAP
1. Stop the server
2. Run the Steam Update
3. Go to Configuration Files, edit Config.bat file, and select Genesis Part 2 (NEW) from the map list
4. Start the server (GIVE IT TIME, THIS MAP USES 14GB RAM, TAKES MORE TIME TO LOAD)
TROUBLESHOOTING
- THE SERVER IT'S NOT STARTING AT ALL
- A) You are not waiting time enough, this map uses 14GB of RAM and takes more time than normal to fully load
- B) You have some mods not compatible with this new map, go to GameUserSettings.ini and remove all mods from ActiveMods= list and try to start the server again
- C) Your RAM package it's not enough to run this map, this map uses 14GB of RAM, if you have the basic 5GB package, the server might not be able to fully load the map
- THE SERVER IT'S STARTING BUT SHOWING 70/70 PLAYER SLOTS
- A) The Steam Update was not done correctly and map files missing, you can confirm if the server has the map files checking inside folder \ShooterGame\Content\ you should see a Genesis2 folder.
- B) You have something added on the Custom Map field, you need to have the Custom Map field wiped like showing this picture, click here: https://gyazo.com/5d417cb6f57156dede3ae66605f02940
- NEW MAP AND SOME WORKSHOP MODS
- At this stage we don't know what exact mods are not working/working with this new map, if you are having issues with mods, try to disable the ones that are giving problems and check the Workshop page if mod dev it's giving any information about the new map or if anyone in the comments it's reporting issues with it.
