Switch your GTX Gaming server to a different game at any time, straight from the Client Area. Your current server is backed up first, the new game installs automatically and your price is adjusted for you.
How to switch to a different game
- Log in to the Client Area.
- Go to Services › My Services in the top menu and click the server you want to switch.
- Press Switch Game Server.
- Pick the new game from the list and press Choose Product.
- Press Continue at the bottom of the page.
- Log in to the game panel and wait for the new game to finish installing, then press START.
Don't close or refresh the page after pressing Continue. The switch can take a few minutes because our system is saving a backup of your current server first.
Always switch from the Client Area with Switch Game Server, not with the Switch Game button in the game panel.
Most games are ready within 15 minutes. Big games take longer to download, so give them time before you try to start the server.
Switching to or from Minecraft
Minecraft runs on its own panel, so it can't be switched this way. Open a ticket telling us which server to switch and to which game, and our team will do it for you.
Game switch questions
Will my price change when I switch game?
It can. Some games cost more or less to host than others, so our billing system recalculates your price automatically for the new game.
What happens to my old server's files?
Your current server is backed up before the switch, and the new game starts with a clean install. Want your old server back later? Open a ticket and our team will restore it from that backup.
To keep a copy yourself, download a backup before you switch.
How often can I switch?
Any time you like. Trying out a new release with your group and coming back later is exactly what this is for.
The new game won't start. What now?
Check that the install has finished: the game panel shows it while it's still installing. Then open Log Viewer or the Web Console to see what the server is doing. If it still won't start, open a ticket and we'll take a look.
