To create a procedural ARK on your server, set the map to Procedural Map in Config.bat, then enable the Procedural Generator in Game.ini and give your map a name. Every new name generates a new map.
Procedurally generated ARKs (PGARKs) give your ARK Survival Evolved server hosting a fresh, random world built from your own settings: water, mountains, size and more.
Studio Wildcard no longer supports procedural ARKs and they are not in ARK: Survival Ascended. They still work on ARK Survival Evolved, but expect the odd bug.
Create a procedural ARK: how to enable and run procedural maps
- Stop your server.
- Go to Configuration Files, edit the
Config.batfile, change the map to Procedural Map and Save the file. This loads ARK's procedural map, calledPGARKin the game files. - Start the server.
How to generate new procedural maps
- Enable Procedural Map first, following the steps above. Stop your server before you edit the next file.
- Go to Configuration Files and edit
Game.iniwith the Config Editor option (called Configuration Editor on older panels). - Enable the Procedural Generator at the end of the file.
- Change the procedural name to one of your choice, adjust the settings as you like and Save the file.
- Start the server.
Every time you change the procedural name, the server generates a new map with the settings you chose. To return to a previously generated map, just change the procedural name back to the one you used.
In Game.ini the procedural name is stored as PGMapName and your map settings (seed, size, water, mountains and more) as PGTerrainPropertiesString, under [/Script/ShooterGame.ShooterGameMode]. Copy that settings line to share a map you like with another server owner.

How do I create a procedural ARK on my server?

How do I go back to an older procedural map?
Change the procedural name in Game.ini back to the name you used for that map, save and start the server. Each name keeps its own map.
Can I use procedural maps on ARK: Survival Ascended?
