ARK whitelist for admins: add your Steam64ID to AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt on your ARK: Survival Evolved server and you get admin rights automatically, with no admin password to type in game.
Whitelisted admins can use cheat commands on your ARK Survival Evolved server straight away, as if they had logged in with enablecheats. Handy for you and your trusted co-admins.
How to set up the ARK admin whitelist
- Stop your server in the game panel.
- Go to steamid.io and find your Steam64ID (the 17-digit number that starts with
7656). - Go to Configuration Files and edit the
AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txtfile with the Config Editor option (the Configuration Editor). Add your Steam64ID and save it. - Start your server.
Adding more admins? Put each Steam64ID on its own line in AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt. Only add people you fully trust: they get full admin rights.
Once you're whitelisted, try the commands in How to use admin commands on your ARK server.
ARK whitelist questions
How do I whitelist admins on my ARK server?
Stop the server, find your Steam64ID on steamid.io, then in the game panel open Configuration Files and edit AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt with the Config Editor. Add the Steam64ID, one per line, save and start the server.
Do whitelisted admins still need the admin password?
No. Players listed in AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt get admin rights automatically. The admin password still works for anyone else who knows it.
Is this the same as a player whitelist?
No. AllowedCheaterSteamIDs.txt only gives admin rights. A player whitelist, where only listed players can join, is a separate ARK feature that uses the -exclusivejoin launch option and its own list of IDs. Want to use it on your server? Ask about it in a support ticket.
Want your own ARK server? See ARK: Survival Evolved server hosting.
