VPPAdminTools gives you a full in-game admin menu on your DayZ server. Install it in one click from the Mod Manager: enter your super admin password and Steam64 ID, and CF is added for you.
VPPAdminTools is a powerful DayZ mod for server administration. It gives you a full suite of tools for monitoring, managing and moderating your server, including player management, teleportation, item spawning and advanced configuration options, for better server control and gameplay.
Before you install VPPAdminTools on your DayZ server
- Install VPPAdminTools on a vanilla server. Begin with a clean installation without any other mods, to avoid conflicts. If possible, reinstall your server before adding VPPAdminTools, for a clean setup.
- Take a backup. Back up your server before you install, so you can go back if something goes wrong. See How to back up your game server.
- Mod compatibility: some Workshop mods may be incompatible with VPPAdminTools, which could lead to server crashes or startup failures.
- Add mods gradually: after installing VPPAdminTools, add other mods one at a time and test your server after each installation, to identify potential conflicts.
- DayZ updates warning: DayZ updates may break the VPPAdminTools mod until the developer releases a compatible update.
This mod requires the Workshop mod CF (Community Framework) as a dependency. CF is installed automatically when you install VPPAdminTools.
How to install the VPPAdminTools mod
You need your Steam64 ID for step 6. Get it from https://steamid.io: paste your Steam profile link and copy the steamID64 value (a 17-digit number).
- Stop your server: press STOP on your DayZ server.
- Go to the Mod Manager in your game panel.
- Find VPPAdminTools in the Community Mods section.
- Click Install to add the VPPAdminTools mod to your server.
- Type your Super Admin Password. You will use it to open the admin menu in game.
- Type your Super Admin Steam64ID (get it from https://steamid.io).
- Press Install and wait for the process to finish.
- Start your server: press START and allow a few minutes for it to initialise.
Pick a strong password that you don't use anywhere else, and keep it to yourself: anyone with it and a super admin Steam64 ID has full control of the server.
Join your server, open the admin menu and enter your super admin password. The VPPAdminTools key bindings are in the game's settings menu, on the keybinds tab under VPPAdminTools.
Update the VPPAdminTools mod
- Press STOP.
- Update the VPPAdminTools Workshop mod like a regular Workshop mod using the Steam Workshop button. Update CF the same way.
- Press START.

How do I install VPPAdminTools on my DayZ server?
Stop your server, open the Mod Manager in the GTX game panel, find VPPAdminTools under Community Mods and click Install. Type your Super Admin Password and your Super Admin Steam64ID, press Install and wait for it to finish, then start your server. The panel adds the CF mod for you.
Where do I find my Steam64 ID?
Go to steamid.io, paste your Steam profile link and copy the steamID64 value. It is a 17-digit number that starts with 7656.
How do I add another super admin later?
According to the mod's Workshop page, super admins are listed by Steam64 ID in SuperAdmins.txt in your server's profiles folder, under VPPAdminTools/Permissions/SuperAdmins. Stop the server, add the new Steam64 ID on its own line with the File Manager, save and start the server. The password settings are in VPPAdminTools/Permissions/credentials.txt.
The admin menu stopped working after a DayZ update. What should I do?
Update VPPAdminTools and CF in Steam Workshop and restart the server. If the mod developer hasn't released a compatible update yet, the mod may not work until they do.
