Add yourself as admin with DayZ Community Online Tools (COT): install the mod from Steam Workshop, join once to create your player file, then give yourself the Admin role in the File Manager.

Community Online Tools is a GUI admin mod for DayZ. Admins can teleport players, set player health, change the weather and spawn vehicles from an in-game menu. You can find it on the Community-Online-Tools Steam Workshop page.

How to add yourself as admin with DayZ Community Online Tools

  1. Stop your game server: press STOP in the game panel.
  2. Go to Steam Workshop.
  3. Install Community-Online-Tools.
  4. Start the server.
  5. Connect to the server with your game, so the mod creates your player file.
  6. Leave the server and stop the server.
  7. Go to File Manager › profiles › permissionsframework › players, edit your player file, change the role from Everyone to Admin and save.
  8. Go to File Manager › profiles › permissionsframework › permissions, edit your player file, change all the ids from 0 to 2 and save.
  9. Start the server and you're done.

Your player file ID can be found in the server's RPT log. Open the .RPT file from the profiles folder in the File Manager and look for your ID after you have joined.

The Community Online Tools Workshop page describes the player files in PermissionsFramework/Players as .json files named after your GUID/SteamID. If no file was created for you, follow the instructions on that page. In game, press Y to open the COT toolbar menu.

Always stop the server before you edit these files, or your changes can be overwritten when the server saves.
