VEIN Server Hosting Control Panel
Our custom panel puts your server's settings, files, updates, restarts and backups in a browser, so you spend your time surviving instead of hunting through config folders.

- ⚙️Game.ini in Configuration FilesYour server name, description, password, player count, public listing and admin SteamIDs live in Game.ini, edited in the browser with a Text Editor or the Config Editor. Stop, change, save, start.
- 🧟Engine.ini for the rulesThe gameplay console variables sit in Engine.ini next to it: PvP on or off, zombie and bandit spawns, how fast the days pass. Same editors, same stop-save-start.
- 🔄Steam Update & Scheduled TasksOne button updates your server when Ramjet Studios ships a VEIN patch, and Scheduled Tasks run updates, restarts and backups on a timer with a warning to players first.
- 💾Backups & File ManagerDaily automatic backups plus your own on a schedule, and a File Manager and SFTP access for uploading a save from your PC or downloading your world.
- 📊Web Console, logs & live graphsFollow the server's output in the Web Console and Log Viewer, and watch players, CPU, memory, disk and bandwidth on live graphs under Activity and Stats.
VEIN Server Hosting: Rules, PvP & Admin
VEIN keeps its server identity in Game.ini and its gameplay rules in Engine.ini: name and password your server, choose PvP or PvE, decide how fast the days pass, and give your friends admin rights, all from the browser.
Edit Game.ini under Configuration Files to set ServerName, ServerDescription and a Password for a private world, with MaxPlayers matched to your slots and bPublic deciding whether the server browser lists you.
Your Servervein.PvP in Engine.ini switches player-versus-player on or off, so your server can be a friendly co-op rebuild or a world where other survivors are as dangerous as the dead.
Your Rulesvein.AISpawner.Enabled turns zombie and bandit spawning on or off, and vein.Time.TimeMultiplier sets how fast the clock runs, from long slow days to a quick cycle of seasons.
Your ApocalypsePut SteamID64s on the AdminSteamIDs or SuperAdminSteamIDs line of Game.ini and those players get the in-game admin menu, where changes save by themselves.
Your PowersEngine.ini goes deeper: vein.AISpawner.Hordes.Enabled for hordes drawn by noise and smell, vein.Scarcity.Difficulty for how much loot the world holds, vein.Stats.XPMultiplier for levelling speed and vein.Permadeath for a one-life server.
Your DifficultyVEIN is in Early Access and patches often: the Steam Update button updates your server in one click, and Scheduled Tasks run updates, restarts and backups on a timer with a warning to players.
Hands-FreeAlready running a VEIN server at home or with another host? Upload your save with the File Manager or SFTP, set your Game.ini and start the server, and our 24/7 team can help with the move or handle it for you.
How Many Slots Does My VEIN Server Need?
Pick a slot for every player who will be online at the same time. Zombies and bandits do not use slots, only real players do, and every plan includes up to 12GB of RAM.
| Slots | Best for | From |
|---|---|---|
| 10 slots | A group of friends in one safehouse | CA$18.68/mo |
| 20 slotsRecommended | A community with two or three rival groups | CA$28.27/mo |
| 30 slots | Discord communities and co-op nights | CA$37.86/mo |
| 40 slots | Busy co-op and PvP communities | CA$47.45/mo |
| 50 slots | Public servers | CA$57.04/mo |
| 60 slots | Large public worlds | CA$66.63/mo |
| 70 slots | Big communities with events | CA$76.21/mo |
| 80 slots | Very large communities | CA$85.79/mo |
| 90 slots | Networks with several groups per world | CA$95.37/mo |
| 100 slots | The biggest VEIN server we offer | CA$104.96/mo |
Every tier from 10 to 100 slots is in the full plan list above. On memory, our own 20 slot VEIN demo server used about 3.5GB of RAM ten minutes after starting a fresh world with nobody online, so the up to 12GB included on every server leaves plenty of room for a new group. More players, more loot on the ground and bigger bases use more, so busy servers need more. Watch live memory use in the control panel and add memory from 14GB to 32GB at any time from your client area.
VEIN Server Hosting Locations: Low Ping Canada & Worldwide
VEIN servers deploy in 13 locations: Quebec in Canada; New York, Ashburn, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles and Portland in the USA; London, Paris, Frankfurt and Amsterdam in Europe; and Sydney in Australia. Run a quick test to see your latency to our network.

+The Complete Guide to VEIN Server Hosting in Canada & Worldwide
Everything you need to know before you rent a VEIN server in Canada or any of GTX Gaming's worldwide datacentres, from joining your server and setting up Game.ini to PvP, zombie spawns and day length in Engine.ini, admins and the admin menu, updates, slots, RAM, pricing and locations.
What Is VEIN Server Hosting?
VEIN server hosting is a managed service that runs a VEIN dedicated server on professional hardware in a datacentre, around the clock, so your safehouse, your crops and your vehicles are always there whether or not anyone is at their PC. Every GTX Gaming VEIN server includes up to 12GB of RAM, up to 100GB of NVMe storage, daily automatic backups, enterprise DDoS protection and a web control panel, so jobs like naming your server, switching PvP on or scheduling a restart take a few clicks.
People look for it as a VEIN dedicated server, a VEIN private server, a VEIN game server or VEIN server rental. They all mean the same thing: your own always-on VEIN server, with your world, your survivors and your rules.
What Is VEIN?
VEIN is a post-apocalyptic survival multiplayer sandbox from Ramjet Studios. In the near future the apocalypse has happened: zombies roam the Earth, most people are dead and society has collapsed. You are a survivor who gathers supplies, explores abandoned buildings, fights bandits, fortifies a home and rebuilds society with friends. It arrived in Early Access on Steam on 24 October 2025 and is still growing.
- Usable everything: you can interact with nearly everything you see, from mailboxes and taps to knocking on doors, and throw a can of beans at a zombie if you like.
- Intelligent AI: zombies and bandits can see, hear, feel and smell you and react to it, with terrifying zombie variants on top.
- Long-term survival: hunt, fish and trap, till land and grow food, chop wood, and keep a car or truck fuelled, maintained and upgraded, because once the canned goods run out you are on your own.
- Still updated: Ramjet Studios ships numbered updates and hotfixes; 0.025 in September 2026 added a new map area north of Franklin County, new animations, building maintenance and new buildables, and the 0.024 hotfixes before it improved dedicated server performance.
Why Rent Your Own VEIN Server?
VEIN is a world that keeps changing with the seasons and its long-running random events, and that only pays off if the world is always there. Most groups rent rather than host at home, for reasons that show up within the first week:
- Always online: the server runs 24 hours a day, so friends in other time zones can log in when they like and nobody waits for the host.
- Nothing to run at home: no ports to open on your router and no PC left running all night with the server eating its RAM.
- Room for everyone: from 10 slots for one group of friends to 100 for a public world with several rival groups.
- Proper hardware: high-frequency CPUs and NVMe storage in a datacentre, with DDoS protection at the network edge for raid night.
- Backups and support: daily automatic backups and a 24/7 support team mean a failed raid or a bad update is an inconvenience, not the end of your safehouse.
Getting Started & Joining Your VEIN Server
Your server is installed the moment you order. From there, getting your group into the world typically looks like this:
- Order: choose your slots and your location, and your server is set up instantly.
- Name it: stop the server, open Game.ini under Configuration Files, set ServerName and, for a private world, a Password, save and press START.
- Join: in VEIN open the multiplayer server browser, search for your server name and join, or connect directly with the address and game port shown under Connection Info in your panel.
- Tell your friends: the server name and the password are all they need, with their own copy of VEIN on Steam.
The GTX panel also shows your SFTP and query details on the home page, so you always know where your server lives. If your server does not appear in the browser, check that it is running, or ask our 24/7 team.
Game.ini: Server Name, Password, Slots & Listing
VEIN reads its server identity from Game.ini, and our panel exposes it under Configuration Files with a Text Editor and a Config Editor, so you never touch a command line:
- ServerName and ServerDescription: what players see in the server browser. A unique name is easier to find.
- Password: set one for a private world; leave it empty for a public server.
- MaxPlayers: the player count, set to match the slots you ordered.
- bPublic: True lists your server in the in-game browser, False keeps it off the list for a password-only group.
- AdminSteamIDs and SuperAdminSteamIDs: the SteamID64s of the players who get the in-game admin menu (see Admins below).
Stop the server before you edit Game.ini, save it, then start the server again for the change to take effect. Start.bat, the server's starting line, and Backup.bat, its automatic backup, sit next to it under Configuration Files and rarely need touching.
Engine.ini: PvP, Zombies & Day Length
VEIN's gameplay rules are console variables, and the dedicated server reads them from the ConsoleVariables section of Engine.ini, which our panel also opens under Configuration Files. The three most groups change first:
- vein.PvP: True lets players fight each other, False makes the server a co-op world where only the dead and the bandits are dangerous.
- vein.AISpawner.Enabled: True spawns zombies and bandits as normal; False gives you a quiet world for building and testing.
- vein.Time.TimeMultiplier: how fast the in-game clock runs; a higher number means shorter days and faster seasons, a lower one gives long days for exploring, and vein.Time.NightTimeMultiplier makes the nights pass quicker than the days.
The same file holds the rest of the rules: vein.Permadeath for a one-life server, vein.AISpawner.Hordes.Enabled for zombie hordes drawn by noise and smell, vein.Scarcity.Difficulty for how much loot the world holds, vein.Stats.XPMultiplier for faster or slower levelling, vein.ZombieInfectionChance, vein.BuildObjectPvP for whether players can damage each other's bases, and the autosave interval. Game.ini also carries DiscordChatWebhookURL, which relays your server's chat to a Discord channel. Change a variable, save the file and restart the server for it to take effect. Keep a backup before big changes, so you can always go back, and note that a few things are also adjustable from inside the game through the admin menu, where changes save by themselves.
Admins & the In-Game Admin Menu
Running a community server means keeping order, and VEIN gives its admins an in-game menu for it. Setting it up takes one line:
- Find the SteamID64: the 17-digit number of a Steam account, shown on the account's Steam profile URL or by any SteamID lookup site.
- Add it to Game.ini: put the number on the AdminSteamIDs line for admin rights, or on SuperAdminSteamIDs for full rights, save and restart.
- Use the menu: the next time that player joins, the admin menu is theirs, with its changes saved automatically.
Keep the list short and the server password to yourself: anyone on the admin lines can change your world. Our 24/7 support team can help if an admin locks themselves out.
Updates, Restarts & Backups
VEIN is in Early Access and Ramjet Studios patches it often, with numbered updates every few months and hotfixes in between: 0.025 landed on 26 September 2026 and its second hotfix on 4 October 2026. Three panel features keep your server in step without you watching for patches:
- Steam Update: one button brings your server up to the current build; players on the new version can then join again.
- Scheduled Tasks: run an update, a restart or a backup on a timer, with a warning message to players first, so nobody loses a loot run to a surprise restart.
- Backups: daily automatic backups on every server, plus the Backups folder in your File Manager and SFTP access for a copy on your own PC.
How Much Does VEIN Server Hosting Cost in Canada?
Pricing is simple: you pay for the number of slots, with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 100GB of NVMe storage included on every server:
- 10 slots: from CA$18.68/mo. A group of friends in one safehouse.
- 20 slots: from CA$28.27/mo. A community with a few rival groups.
- 50 slots: from CA$57.04/mo. Public servers.
- 70 slots: from CA$76.21/mo. Big communities with events.
- 100 slots: from CA$104.96/mo. The biggest VEIN server we offer.
Every tier in between is in the full plan list at the top of this page. All plans include instant setup, DDoS protection, daily automatic backups and 24/7 support, with no setup fee and no contract. Billing is monthly by default, with three-month, six-month and yearly cycles available at a discount, and you can change plan or cancel at any time.
How Many Slots and How Much RAM Does a VEIN Server Need?
Choose a slot for every player who will be online at the same time; zombies and bandits do not use slots. 10 slots suits one group of friends, 20 slots a community with a few rival groups, and 50 slots or more a public server. The up to 12GB included with every server is the place to start, the control panel shows live memory use, and you can add memory from 14GB to 32GB at any time.
Locations for VEIN Server Hosting
VEIN's zombies react to what they see and hear, and nobody wants to lose a fight at the safehouse door to lag, so host close to your players. GTX Gaming runs VEIN server hosting from a Canadian datacentre in Quebec plus 12 more locations worldwide: New York, Ashburn, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles and Portland in the USA; London, Paris, Frankfurt and Amsterdam in Europe; and Sydney in Australia. Use the live ping test above to find the lowest-latency location for your group, pick it at checkout, and if you need to move later our support team can migrate your server.
