Thank you Mr. Gibbs

Absolutely loved the friendliness and the quick response time. Even though I felt a little dumb for not realizing the problem myself, it felt twice as good to know that the fix was simple and clear.

FAQ

Stationeers Server Hosting FAQ

Getting Started

How fast is Stationeers server setup?

+
Instantly. Your Stationeers server is activated as soon as payment completes, and your control panel login and connection details arrive within seconds. Set your server name and password in setting.xml, pick your world in Start.bat if you want a different one, restart, and your crew can find your server in the in-game server list.

What is Stationeers server hosting?

+
Stationeers server hosting is a rented, always-online dedicated server for Stationeers, the space station building and survival game from RocketWerkz. GTX Gaming runs your Stationeers server in a datacentre 24 hours a day with DDoS protection, backups and a control panel, so your crew can build, pipe and wire the same station whenever they like, without anyone having to host it from their own PC.

How do I join my Stationeers server?

+
Start Stationeers, open the server list and look for your server's name, which is the ServerName setting in setting.xml, then enter the password if you set one. Your server's IP address and port are shown in your control panel, and the Web Console shows when the world has loaded. Every player needs their own copy of Stationeers on Steam.

Which worlds can my Stationeers server run?

+
All six current Stationeers worlds: the Moon, Mars, Europa, Mimas, Venus and Vulcan, which RocketWerkz rebuilt as hand-authored maps with its new terrain in September 2025. Set the world type and save name in Start.bat with the Config Editor, and choose a difficulty from Creative, Easy, Normal and Stationeer.

Can I use mods on my Stationeers server?

+
Yes. Stationeers has an official Steam Workshop, and the Steam Workshop button in your control panel installs Workshop items to your server. For code mods that need BepInEx, the community-made StationeersLaunchPad mod loader is one click in our Mod Manager. Players usually need the same mods as the server, so take a backup and share your mod list before you add anything big.

How do I use admin commands on my Stationeers server?

+
Type them in the Web Console of your control panel. Useful ones include status to see who is connected, save to save the world, kick and ban to remove a player, say and announce to message everyone, and difficulty to change the difficulty. Banned Steam IDs are kept in Blacklist.txt in Configuration Files, and our help guide on admin commands walks you through the rest.
Server & Sizing

How many players can join my Stationeers server?

+
You choose your slots on the order form, any number from 8 to 64, and the server's ServerMaxPlayers setting follows it. Stationeers is built for co-op crews: RocketWerkz said in September 2025 that its own playtests regularly had up to 10 players online at once without any issues. So 8 to 16 slots suits most crews, and 32 slots or more a public server.

How much RAM does a Stationeers server need?

+
Every server includes up to 10GB of RAM. On memory, our own 16 slot demo server used about 7GB of RAM right after creating a new Moon world, with nobody online. Big bases, many pipes and machines, and mods use more. The control panel shows live memory use, and you can add memory from 12GB to 64GB at any time from your client area.

Does my Stationeers server keep running when nobody is online?

+
Your server stays online 24 hours a day, but with the AutoPauseServer setting on, the simulation pauses when the last player leaves and carries on when someone joins. Your air, power and crops are just as you left them, and the server saves when the last player leaves.

Can I move my Stationeers save from my PC or another host?

+
Yes. Since September 2025 each Stationeers world is a single compressed .save file. Upload it with the File Manager or SFTP, set the save name in Start.bat and restart the server. Your save and the server must be on the same game version, and saves from before the September 2025 update do not load in the current game. Our 24/7 support team can do the move for you.

Can I upgrade my Stationeers server later?

+
Yes. You can change your player slots, RAM allocation, disk space, CPU priority and clock boost at any time from your client area, and upgrades are applied without losing your station. If you downgrade, you receive account credit for the difference. Moving to a different location is handled by our support team on request.

Which locations can I host a Stationeers server in?

+
19 locations worldwide: Sydney in Australia; Tokyo, Singapore and Mumbai in Asia; London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Stockholm and Madrid in Europe; New York, Ashburn, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, Portland and Quebec in North America; plus Moscow. Some locations carry a surcharge, shown at checkout. Run the ping test on this page to find your lowest-latency location, then pick it during checkout.
Pricing & Billing

The Complete Guide

The Complete Guide to Stationeers Server Hosting in Australia & Worldwide

Everything you need to know before you rent a Stationeers server in Australia or any of GTX Gaming's worldwide datacentres, from joining and setting.xml to worlds and difficulty, admin commands, Steam Workshop mods and StationeersLaunchPad, moving a save, slots, RAM, pricing and locations.

What Is Stationeers Server Hosting?

Stationeers server hosting is a managed service that runs a Stationeers dedicated server on professional hardware in a datacentre, around the clock, so your crew can keep building, piping and wiring your station whether or not the host is at their PC. Every GTX Gaming Stationeers server includes up to 10GB of RAM, up to 100GB of NVMe storage, daily automatic backups, enterprise DDoS protection and a web control panel, so jobs like changing a setting, adding a mod or banning a griefer take a few clicks.

People look for it as a Stationeers dedicated server, a Stationeers game server or simply a Stationeers server to rent, and they all mean the same thing: a private, always-on home for your own Stationeers server, with your world, your settings and your rules.

What Is Stationeers?

Stationeers is the space station building and survival game from RocketWerkz. You land on a hostile world with almost nothing and build a working station, then keep it alive: air to breathe, heat, power, food and water. Behind it sits one of the deepest simulations in survival games, from gas mixtures, temperature and pressure to combustion, power networks and programmable chips. It has been in Early Access on Steam since 12 December 2017 and still gets regular free updates.

  • Real atmospherics: every room has its own gas mix, pressure and temperature, and a leak or a fire spreads the way physics says it should.
  • Programmable stations: IC10 chips run assembly-style scripts that automate airlocks, furnaces, greenhouses and power.
  • A new foundation: in September 2025 RocketWerkz shipped new terrain, six hand-authored maps and a new save system that stores each world in a single compressed .save file.
  • Better multiplayer in 2026: the Multiplayer Update in January 2026 upgraded the game's networking and engine, and the Power Line Update in August 2026 reworked the network code, cutting a client's bandwidth on a big 50,000-object save from about 650 KB/s to under 100 KB/s.
  • Still growing: the Gases Update in March 2026 and the Sanitation Update in July 2026 added new gases, a combustion overhaul, a sanitation need and new server admin commands.

Why Rent a Stationeers Server?

RocketWerkz gives players the dedicated server files, so you could run one on a spare machine at home. Most crews rent a Stationeers server instead, for reasons that show up within the first week:

  • Always online: the server runs 24 hours a day, so your crew can play whenever it suits them without waiting for the host, and it pauses itself when nobody is online.
  • Nothing to run at home: no ports to open on your router and no PC left running, and your own PC stays free for playing.
  • Room for everyone: any slot count from 8 for a small crew up to 64 for a public server.
  • Proper hardware: high-frequency CPUs and NVMe storage in a datacentre, with DDoS protection at the network edge.
  • Backups and support: daily automatic backups and a 24/7 support team mean a vented base or a broken mod is an inconvenience, not the end of your station.

Getting Started & Joining Your Stationeers Server

Your server is set up the moment you order, and it creates a new world on its first start. From there, getting your crew on board typically looks like this:

  • Order: choose your slots and your location, and your server is set up instantly.
  • Name it: set your server name, password and admin password in setting.xml with the Config Editor in Configuration Files, then restart.
  • Pick a world: choose the world type and save name in Start.bat, or keep the world the server made on its first start.
  • Join: start Stationeers, open the server list and look for your server's name.

Your server's address and port are shown in the control panel, and the Web Console shows the server's own output, so you can see straight away when the world has loaded and the server is ready for players.

setting.xml: Your Server's Rules

Your server's own settings live in setting.xml. In Configuration Files, the Config Editor covers the common ones and the Text Editor every line. The settings that matter most include:

  • ServerName and ServerPassword: the name your crew sees in the server list, and the password they need to join.
  • ServerMaxPlayers: the player limit, which follows the slot count you order.
  • AutoSave and SaveInterval: how often the world saves, every 300 seconds by default.
  • AutoPauseServer: pauses the simulation while nobody is online, so your station is just as you left it.
  • ServerVisible: whether your server shows up in the in-game server list.

Take a backup before a big change, and restart the server so it loads the new values.

Worlds, Difficulty & Your Save

Since the September 2025 update, Stationeers has six hand-authored worlds, each with its own atmosphere, temperature and resources: the Moon, Mars, Europa, Mimas, Venus and Vulcan. Your server's world type, world name and which save it loads are set in Start.bat, so you can start a new world or carry on an old one.

  • Difficulty: Creative for building without danger, Easy and Normal for most crews, and Stationeer for veterans who want every system to bite.
  • Saves: each world is one compressed .save file, autosaved on your SaveInterval, and the server also saves when the last player leaves.
  • Backups: the Backup Manager keeps your own backups next to our daily ones, so a test of a new reactor design never costs you the station.

Stationeers Admin Commands & Bans

You run your server with commands typed in the Web Console of your control panel. A few of the most used:

  • status: see the server's state and who is connected.
  • save: save the world now, for example before a risky build.
  • kick and ban: remove a player, or keep them out for good. Banned Steam IDs are listed in Blacklist.txt in Configuration Files.
  • say and announce: send a message to everyone on the server, with announce added in the Sanitation Update in July 2026.
  • difficulty and pause: change the difficulty, or pause and resume the simulation.

Keep the admin password to yourself and the people you trust. Our support team can help if you lock yourself out.

Steam Workshop Mods & StationeersLaunchPad

Stationeers has an official Steam Workshop with IC Code scripts, mods, scenarios, world saves and world settings. The Steam Workshop button in your control panel installs Workshop items to your server, and modconfig.xml keeps track of them. For code mods that need BepInEx, the community-made StationeersLaunchPad mod loader is one click in our Mod Manager. Players usually need the same mods as the server, so share your mod list with your crew before you add anything big, and take a backup first.

Moving a Stationeers Save to Your Server

Already playing Stationeers in single player or with another host? You do not have to start again:

  • Find your save: since September 2025 a world is a single compressed .save file, so there is just one file to move.
  • Upload: copy it to your GTX server with the File Manager, or with SFTP if you prefer a desktop client.
  • Load it: set the save name in Start.bat with the Config Editor and restart the server.
  • Check the version: your save and the server must be on the same game version, and saves from before the September 2025 update do not load in the current game.

Our 24/7 support team can handle the whole move for you.

How Much Does Stationeers Server Hosting Cost in Australia?

Pricing is simple: every player slot is A$1.96/mo, with up to 10GB of RAM and up to 100GB of NVMe storage included on every server:

  • 8 slots: from A$15.68/mo. A small crew on its own private station.
  • 16 slots: from A$31.36/mo. Bigger crews and modded worlds.
  • 32 slots: from A$62.72/mo. Community servers.
  • 64 slots: from A$125.44/mo. The largest server on our order form.

Any slot count in between is on the order form. All plans include instant setup, DDoS protection, daily automatic backups and 24/7 support, with no setup fee and no contract. Billing is monthly by default, with three-month, six-month and yearly cycles available at a discount, and you can change plan or cancel at any time.

How Many Slots and How Much RAM Does a Stationeers Server Need?

Choose a slot for every player who will be online at the same time. Stationeers is built for co-op crews: RocketWerkz said in September 2025 that its own playtests regularly had up to 10 players online at once without any issues. So 8 to 16 slots suits most crews, and 32 slots or more a public server. On memory, our own 16 slot demo server used about 7GB of RAM right after creating a new Moon world, with nobody online. Big bases, many pipes and machines, and mods use more. The up to 10GB included with every server is the place to start, the control panel shows live memory use, and you can add memory from 12GB to 64GB at any time.

Locations for Stationeers Server Hosting

Placing pipes and dodging a pressure blowout are easier without lag, so host close to your players. GTX Gaming runs Stationeers server hosting from an Australian datacentre in Sydney plus 18 more locations worldwide: Tokyo, Singapore and Mumbai in Asia; London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Stockholm and Madrid in Europe; New York, Ashburn, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, Portland and Quebec in North America; plus Moscow. Some locations carry a surcharge, shown at checkout. Use the live ping test above to find the lowest-latency location for your crew, pick it at checkout, and if you need to move later our support team can migrate your server.
