Thank you Mr. Gibbs

Absolutely loved the friendliness and the quick response time. Even though I felt a little dumb for not realizing the problem myself, it felt twice as good to know that the fix was simple and clear.

FAQ

Assetto Corsa Server Hosting FAQ

Getting Started

How fast is Assetto Corsa server setup?

+
Instantly. Your Assetto Corsa server is activated as soon as payment completes, and your control panel login and connection details arrive within seconds. Assetto Corsa Server Manager is already running on it, so you can start your first race straight away and set up your own cars, track and rules afterwards.

What is Assetto Corsa server hosting?

+
Assetto Corsa server hosting is a rented, always-online dedicated server for Assetto Corsa, the racing simulator from Kunos Simulazioni. GTX Gaming runs the official Assetto Corsa dedicated server in a datacentre 24 hours a day with DDoS protection, backups, a control panel and Assetto Corsa Server Manager, so your league, club or group of friends always has a track to race on, with your own cars, sessions and rules.

How do I join my Assetto Corsa server?

+
Start Assetto Corsa on Steam and look for your server by the name you gave it, either in the game's online server list or in the Online tab of Content Manager. You can also add it by its IP address. If the server has a password, drivers enter it when they join. The server's IP address and ports are shown in your control panel.

What is Assetto Corsa Server Manager?

+
Assetto Corsa Server Manager is a web interface for the Assetto Corsa dedicated server. The free version, AC Server Manager 1.7.9, comes installed on every GTX Gaming Assetto Corsa server, with KissMyRank, Real Penalty, stracker and Sol already set up. In your browser you can start quick races and custom races, run championships, upload cars, tracks and weather, follow live timings and read the results of every session. If you own an AC Server Manager Premium licence, you can install the Premium version from the Mod Manager in one click.

Can I run championships and leagues on my Assetto Corsa server?

+
Yes. Assetto Corsa Server Manager has a championship mode with driver, class and team points across several events, and race weekends that run sequential sessions with the grid worked out for you. You can lock the server to an entry list of your drivers, set a password, and apply penalties from the results pages afterwards. Events can also loop automatically, so the server keeps running practice sessions between your race nights.

Can I add mod cars and tracks to my Assetto Corsa server?

+
Yes. Upload mod cars, tracks and weather through the content page in Assetto Corsa Server Manager, or through the File Manager or SFTP for bigger packs. Every driver also needs the same cars and tracks installed in their own game to join. Many drivers join through Content Manager, which can show what content a server uses.

Can I run an Assetto Corsa AI traffic server?

+
Yes. Install AssettoServer AI Traffic from the Mod Manager in your control panel in one click and your server fills the roads with AI cars for freeroam cruising. AssettoServer replaces AC Server Manager while it runs, so you set it up in its configuration files instead, and it needs AI fast lane files for the track: every default track has them, but some custom tracks do not. The Shuto Revival Project tracks and cars, made for traffic servers on Tokyo's Shuto Expressway, install from the Mod Manager in one click too.
Server & Sizing

How many drivers can race on my Assetto Corsa server?

+
It depends on the track. An Assetto Corsa server can never hold more cars than the track has pit boxes, and the number of pit boxes differs from circuit to circuit and between mod tracks. Our plans run from 8 to 64 slots, so pick a slot count that matches your grid and the tracks you race on, and change it at any time from your client area.

How much RAM does an Assetto Corsa server need?

+
Every server includes up to 5GB of RAM, which is generous for an Assetto Corsa server: Kunos does not publish a memory figure, and our own demo server used under 200MB while idling with Assetto Corsa Server Manager running. The control panel shows live memory use, so you can see exactly what your grid uses, and more memory is available at any time from your client area if you ever need it.

Can I upgrade my Assetto Corsa server later?

+
Yes. You can change your player slots, RAM allocation, disk space, CPU priority and clock boost at any time from your client area, and upgrades are applied without losing your settings. If you downgrade, you receive account credit for the difference. Moving to a different location is handled by our support team on request.

Which locations can I host an Assetto Corsa server in?

+
19 locations worldwide: Sydney in Australia; Tokyo, Singapore and Mumbai in Asia; London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Stockholm and Madrid in Europe; New York, Ashburn, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, Portland and Quebec in North America; plus Moscow. Some locations carry a surcharge, shown at checkout. Run the ping test on this page to find your lowest-latency location, then pick it during checkout.

Can PlayStation or Xbox players join my Assetto Corsa server?

+
No. This is a server for the PC version of Assetto Corsa on Steam, and drivers join it with the Steam version of the game. The PlayStation and Xbox versions of Assetto Corsa cannot join PC servers, and there is no crossplay between PC and console.
Pricing & Billing

Should I host an Assetto Corsa server on my own PC?

+
You can, since the dedicated server comes with the game on Steam, but you have to open its ports on your router, and the server is only online while that PC is running. A rented Assetto Corsa server runs 24 hours a day on datacentre hardware with DDoS protection, daily backups and Assetto Corsa Server Manager already set up, so your drivers can practise and race whenever it suits them.

How much does Assetto Corsa server hosting cost in Australia?

+
GTX Gaming Assetto Corsa server hosting starts at A$7.20/mo for an 8 slot server, with up to 5GB of RAM and up to 100GB of NVMe storage included. A 16 slot server is A$13.77/mo and a full 64 slot server is A$28.79/mo. There are no setup fees and no contracts, so you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time.

What is your refund policy?

+
We offer a 24-hour money-back guarantee on Assetto Corsa server hosting. If your server isn't right for you within the first 24 hours of order, contact us for a full refund, no questions asked.

Do you offer monthly Assetto Corsa server hosting with no contract?

+
Yes. Every GTX Gaming Assetto Corsa server can be billed monthly with no minimum contract and no setup fee, and you can add or remove upgrades or cancel at any time from your client area. Three-month, six-month and yearly billing cycles are also available with discounts of 5%, 10% and 15%.
The Complete Guide

The Complete Guide to Assetto Corsa Server Hosting in Australia & Worldwide

Everything you need to know before you rent an Assetto Corsa server in Australia or any of GTX Gaming's worldwide datacentres, from joining and Assetto Corsa Server Manager to championships, AI traffic servers, the Shuto Revival Project, server rules, mod cars and tracks, plugins, slots, pricing and locations.

GuideNew to running a server? Our Assetto Corsa server guide covers Server Manager, server_cfg.ini, admin, mods, AI traffic and rain step by step.

What Is Assetto Corsa Server Hosting?

Assetto Corsa server hosting is a managed service that runs the official Assetto Corsa dedicated server on professional hardware in a datacentre, around the clock, so your drivers can race whether or not you are at your PC. Every GTX Gaming Assetto Corsa server includes up to 5GB of RAM, up to 100GB of NVMe storage, daily automatic backups, enterprise DDoS protection, a web control panel and Assetto Corsa Server Manager, which turns jobs like starting a race, uploading a track or running a championship into a few clicks.

People look for it as an Assetto Corsa dedicated server, an Assetto Corsa game server, an AC server or simply an AC server to rent, and they all mean the same thing: a private, always-on home for your own Assetto Corsa server, with your cars, your tracks and your rules. If you race Assetto Corsa Competizione instead, see our Assetto Corsa Competizione server hosting.

What Is Assetto Corsa?

Assetto Corsa is the racing simulator from the Italian studio Kunos Simulazioni, published by 505 Games. It was released on Steam on 19 December 2014, and versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One followed in 2016. More than ten years on, it is still one of the most played sims on PC, largely thanks to its modding community.

  • Road and race cars: everything from classic road cars and hot hatches to GT, open-wheel and historic racing cars, with more in DLC packs such as the Dream Packs and the Porsche Packs.
  • Laser-scanned circuits: real tracks recreated with laser-scan technology, alongside fictional roads and drift layouts.
  • Physics first: a detailed physics model with tyre temperatures and wear, aerodynamics and setups that matter.
  • Built to be modded: Kunos made the game open to modders, and thousands of community cars and tracks are available, from Touge mountain roads to full GT grids.

Why Rent an Assetto Corsa Server?

The Assetto Corsa dedicated server comes with the game on Steam, so you could run it from a spare machine at home. Most leagues, clubs and drift crews rent an Assetto Corsa server instead, for reasons that show up on the first race night:

  • Always online: the server runs 24 hours a day, so drivers can practise before a race without waiting for someone to start it.
  • Nothing to run at home: no ports to open on your router and no PC left running, and your own PC stays free for driving.
  • AI traffic in one click: install AssettoServer AI Traffic and the Shuto Revival Project from the Mod Manager and run a freeroam traffic server without building it yourself.
  • Server Manager ready to go: Assetto Corsa Server Manager is set up for you, so you build races and championships in a browser instead of editing configuration files.
  • Proper hardware: high-frequency CPUs and NVMe storage in a datacentre, with DDoS protection at the network edge, so a race is not decided by a home connection.
  • Backups and support: daily automatic backups and a 24/7 support team mean a broken mod or configuration is an inconvenience, not a cancelled round.

Getting Started & Joining Your Assetto Corsa Server

Your server is set up the moment you order, with Assetto Corsa Server Manager already running. From there, getting your grid onto the track typically looks like this:

  • Order: choose your slots and location, and your server is set up instantly.
  • Open Server Manager: name your server, set a password if you want a private server, and choose the cars and track.
  • Start a race: launch a quick race or a custom race with your own sessions and rules.
  • Join: in Assetto Corsa or Content Manager, find your server by its name in the online list, or add it by its IP address, and enter the password if you set one.

The server's IP address and ports are shown in your control panel, and the Web Console shows the server's own output, so you can see straight away which track and session it is running.

Assetto Corsa Server Manager: Races, Championships & Live Timings

Assetto Corsa Server Manager is a web interface for the Assetto Corsa dedicated server. The free version, AC Server Manager 1.7.9, is installed on your GTX server from day one, with KissMyRank, Real Penalty, stracker and Sol already set up. Instead of editing server_cfg.ini and entry_list.ini by hand, you set everything up in your browser:

  • Quick races: a qualifying session and a race, ready in a few clicks.
  • Custom races: your own cars, track, sessions and rules, saved as presets you can run again.
  • Race weekends: sequential sessions that can run on different days, with the grid for the next session worked out from the results.
  • Championships: several events with driver, class and team points and automatic standings.
  • Live timings and results: lap and sector times while a session runs, and a results page for every session, where you can apply penalties.
  • Accounts and permissions: give other admins their own login with the access they need.
  • Event looping: keep the server running a rotation of events between your race nights.

Want more? If you own an AC Server Manager Premium licence, install the Premium version from the Mod Manager in your control panel in one click and enter your licence.

AI Traffic Servers & the Shuto Revival Project

Freeroam servers with AI traffic are a favourite way to play Assetto Corsa online: cruise a highway full of AI cars with your friends instead of racing on a closed circuit. Your GTX server turns into an AI traffic server in one click:

  • AssettoServer AI Traffic: a custom Assetto Corsa server built with freeroam in mind. Install it from the Mod Manager in your control panel in one click.
  • AI fast lane files: AI traffic follows the AI fast lane files of the track. Every default track has them; some custom tracks do not, and those need the files built first.
  • Shuto Revival Project: the tracks and cars of this popular pack for Tokyo's Shuto Expressway install from the Mod Manager in one click too, including traffic-ready cars. Use the layout with traffic in its name for AI traffic, and allow for a few extra setup steps after installing.
  • Configuration files: AssettoServer replaces AC Server Manager while it runs, so you set it up in its configuration files through Configuration Files or the File Manager, and switch back to Server Manager whenever you want to race.

Our 24/7 support team can help you get your first traffic server running.

Sessions, Assists, Weather & Server Rules

Every race you set up decides how the server behaves. Assetto Corsa offers booking, practice, qualifying and race sessions, and each race can carry its own rules:

  • Sessions: the length of each session, the number of race laps or minutes, and the time of day.
  • Assists: whether drivers may use ABS, traction control, stability control, automatic clutch and tyre blankets.
  • Realism: damage, fuel use and tyre wear rates, and how many tyres may leave the track before a penalty.
  • Dynamic track: how much grip the track starts with and how quickly it rubbers in.
  • Weather: the weather and the air and road temperatures, or Sol for full day and night cycles.
  • Access: a password for a private server, an admin password, and an entry list that locks the grid to your drivers.

Admins can also manage a session from the chat, for example skipping to the next session or kicking a driver.

Mod Cars, Tracks, Content Manager & Plugins

Mods are what keep Assetto Corsa alive, and your server is ready for them. Upload mod cars, tracks and weather through the content page in Server Manager, or use the File Manager or SFTP for big packs. A few things are worth knowing:

  • Same content for everyone: every driver needs the same cars and tracks installed in their own game to join.
  • Content Manager: the popular community launcher for Assetto Corsa. Many drivers join servers through it, and it can show what content a server uses.
  • Sol and Custom Shaders Patch: Server Manager supports Sol for 24-hour day and night cycles, which drivers see when they launch through Content Manager.
  • Plugins: KissMyRank, Real Penalty, stracker and Sol come pre-configured with AC Server Manager on your server. Turn on the ones you want and set them up to suit your rules.

If you are moving a league or a drift server from another host, upload its content and configuration through the File Manager or SFTP and restart: the next session runs exactly as before.

How Much Does Assetto Corsa Server Hosting Cost in Australia?

Pricing is simple: you pay for the number of slots, with up to 5GB of RAM and up to 100GB of NVMe storage included on every server:

  • 8 slots: from A$7.20/mo. Hotlapping, drifting and races with a few friends.
  • 16 slots: from A$13.77/mo. A regular club grid or a busy drift server.
  • 24 slots: from A$15.49/mo. Busy sprint race nights.
  • 32 slots: from A$17.52/mo. League race nights and public servers.
  • 48 slots: from A$23.47/mo. Large championships and open lobbies.
  • 64 slots: from A$28.79/mo. Big grids on tracks with large pit lanes.

All plans include instant setup, Assetto Corsa Server Manager, one-click AI traffic, DDoS protection, daily automatic backups and 24/7 support, with no setup fee and no contract. Billing is monthly by default, with three-month, six-month and yearly cycles available at a discount, and you can change plan or cancel at any time.

How Many Slots Does an Assetto Corsa Server Need?

Choose a slot for every driver who will be on the server at the same time. How many cars can actually take the track depends on the circuit: an Assetto Corsa server can never hold more cars than the track has pit boxes, and that number differs from circuit to circuit, between layouts and between mod tracks. Small groups and drift sessions are well served by 8 or 16 slots, league nights by 24 or 32, and big open servers on tracks with large pit lanes by 48 or 64. On memory, Kunos does not publish a memory figure, and the up to 5GB included with every server is generous: our own demo server used under 200MB while idling with Assetto Corsa Server Manager running. The control panel shows live memory use, so you can see exactly what a full grid needs.

Locations for Assetto Corsa Server Hosting

In close wheel-to-wheel racing every millisecond of latency counts, so host close to your drivers. GTX Gaming runs Assetto Corsa server hosting from an Australian datacentre in Sydney plus 18 more locations worldwide: Tokyo, Singapore and Mumbai in Asia; London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Stockholm and Madrid in Europe; New York, Ashburn, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, Portland and Quebec in North America; plus Moscow. Some locations carry a surcharge, shown at checkout. Use the live ping test above to find the lowest-latency location for your grid, pick it at checkout, and if you need to move later our support team can migrate your server.
