MX Bikes Server Hosting: Tracks, Bikes & Race Settings
Your server runs the official MX Bikes dedicated server. Pick the track, the bike classes and the race format, add custom tracks and bikes, and decide who rides.
Set the track line in the [event] section of dedicated.ini to any stock or custom track, or let tracks_shuffle rotate through a list.
Your Eventcategory picks the classes that may race, such as MX1 or MX2, and allowed_bikes narrows it down to the bikes you choose.
Your GridOpen practice is on by default. Switch it off for a full event with practice, qualifying, warmup and two races, by laps, by time or by distance.
Your FormatSunny, cloudy or rainy, a dry or wet track, and how much the terrain deforms as ruts build up during a race.
Your ConditionsForce the cockpit view, switch rider aids off, limit tyre sets, and turn collisions between bikes on or off.
Your RulesLock the server with a password, keep an admin password for your race directors, and use a whitelist, a blacklist and a ping limit.

+The Complete Guide to MX Bikes Server Hosting in Australia & Worldwide
Everything you need to know before you rent an MX Bikes server in Australia or any of GTX Gaming's worldwide datacentres, from joining and race settings to custom tracks and bikes, admins, slots, pricing and locations.
What Is MX Bikes Server Hosting?
MX Bikes server hosting is a managed service that runs an MX Bikes dedicated server on professional hardware in a datacentre, around the clock, so your riders can practise, race and run league nights whether or not you are at your PC. Every GTX Gaming MX Bikes server includes up to 5GB of RAM, up to 100GB of NVMe storage, daily automatic backups, enterprise DDoS protection and a web control panel, so jobs like changing the track, adding a custom bike pack or setting a password take a few clicks.
People look for it as an MX Bikes dedicated server, an MX Bikes private server, an MX Bikes game server or an MXB server, and they all mean the same thing: your own always-on MX Bikes server, with your tracks, your bikes and your rules.
What Is MX Bikes?
MX Bikes is a realistic motocross simulator from PiBoSo, in Early Access on Steam since 7 October 2019. It is built on a scratch-built physics engine that simulates motorcycle dynamics and setup options, and it is made for racing other people: there is no AI and no career mode.
- Physics first: an industry-standard tyre model, chassis flex, dynamic terrain deformation, wet terrain and wet weather, according to the game's Steam page.
- Every kind of dirt: MX Bikes sorts its tracks into motocross, supercross, supermoto and enduro, and the official site lists the stock MSM bikes from the 250X two-stroke to the 450SM supermoto.
- Built for community content: PiBoSo provides tools and documentation for building new tracks, bikes, helmets and protections, so the community keeps adding tracks and bike packs.
- Online racing: LAN and online racing with a dedicated server, and an integrated matchmaking server that collects race data for rider statistics.
- Still in development: MX Bikes keeps getting beta updates, most recently beta21e in June 2026.
Why Rent Your Own MX Bikes Server?
Public servers run someone else's track list and someone else's rules. With your own server you decide the track, the bike classes, the race format and who rides. Most crews and leagues rent rather than host at home, for reasons that show up by the first race night:
- Always online: the server runs 24 hours a day, so riders in every time zone can practise whenever they like.
- Nothing to run at home: no ports to open on your router and no PC left running all night.
- Room for the whole gate: any slot count from 10 for a group of friends to 42 for a league with full gates.
- Proper hardware: high-frequency CPUs and NVMe storage in a datacentre, with DDoS protection at the network edge.
- Backups and support: daily automatic backups and a 24/7 support team mean a broken setting or a bad track upload is an inconvenience, not the end of your server.
Getting Started & Joining Your MX Bikes Server
Your server is set up the moment you order. From there, getting your riders on the gate typically looks like this:
- Order: choose your slots and your location, and your server is set up instantly.
- Name it: set the name line in the [connection] section of dedicated.ini through Configuration Files, so riders can find your server in the server list.
- Pick the track: set the track and the bike classes in the [event] section, choose open practice or a full race event, and add a password if you want a private server. Then restart.
- Join: start MX Bikes, open the online menu, find your server by its name and join.
Your control panel shows your server's connection address and SFTP details. Every rider needs the same track and bikes your server is running, so share the download links with your riders before race night. If your server does not appear in the list, check that it is running, or ask our 24/7 team.
Race Settings: dedicated.ini & mxbikes.ini
Your server's race settings live in dedicated.ini, which you edit through Configuration Files in the control panel, with a Config Editor for the common settings and a Text Editor for everything else. The sections that matter most:
- [connection]: the server name, the password, the admin password, the message of the day and a max_ping limit, 400 milliseconds by default. maxclient follows the slot count you order.
- [event]: the track, an optional track layout, tracks_shuffle for a rotation, and the category and allowed_bikes lines that decide who races on what.
- [race]: open practice is on by default. Switch it off for a full event with practice, pre-qualifying, qualifying, warmup and two races, set the race length as a share of the full distance, by time or by laps, and set the restart delay between events, 300 seconds by default.
- [weather] and [deformation]: sunny, cloudy or rainy conditions, a dry or wet track, and how much the terrain deforms as ruts build up.
- [hardcore] and [collisions]: force the cockpit view, switch rider aids off, limit tyre sets and turn collisions between bikes on or off.
- [export] and [replay]: save race results as HTML or XML and keep full replays of your races.
mxbikes.ini is where custom mods are switched on. Change a setting, save the file and restart the server for it to take effect. Keep a backup before big changes, so you can always go back.
Custom Tracks on Your MX Bikes Server
Custom tracks are the heart of most MX Bikes communities. A track is a .pkz file, and it has to be on both your server and every rider's PC:
- Switch mods on: enable mods in mxbikes.ini through Configuration Files.
- Get the server version: many community tracks come in a server version for your server and a normal version for riders' PCs. Pick tracks that are updated for the current version of the game.
- Upload it: put the .pkz file in the right category folder under mods/tracks (enduro, motocross, supercross or supermoto) with the File Manager, or over SFTP for big track files.
- Set it: put the track name, the file name without .pkz, in the track line of the [event] section of dedicated.ini, then restart.
- Tell your riders: each rider copies the normal version of the track into Documents/PiBoSo/MX Bikes/mods/tracks on their own PC, in the same category folder.
OEM & Custom Bikes
Bike packs, such as the popular community OEM bike pack, work the same way. Upload the server version of the pack's .pkz files into mods/bikes, and any tyre files that come with it into mods/tyres. Then list the bike classes you want in the category line and the bikes themselves in the allowed_bikes line of the [event] section of dedicated.ini, and restart. Riders need the same bikes installed on their own PCs, and anyone who is missing a bike in use cannot race on it.
Passwords, Admins & Who Can Ride
Running a league or a club server means keeping order. The [connection] section of dedicated.ini has what you need:
- Password: set a password to keep the server private for your crew or league.
- Admin password: your server comes with an admin password for you and your race directors. Keep it to yourself and never share it in public.
- Whitelist and blacklist: the whitelist and blacklist files decide who may and who may not join.
- Ping limit: max_ping keeps riders with a very high ping off the gate, 400 milliseconds by default.
- Rating class: the [rating] section can limit a server to riders of a rating class, from A, the highest rating, down to D.
Game Updates & Versions
MX Bikes is in Early Access, and PiBoSo releases new betas through Steam, most recently beta21e in June 2026, which added tyre selection and an overjump crash option among other changes. When a new beta is out, the Update Server button in your control panel brings your server up to date. Keep your server on the same version as your riders, and check that your custom tracks and bikes are updated for the new version too.
