Pre-Hardmode Bosses:
Pre-hardmode bosses in Terraria are crucial milestones in the early game that you'll have to defeat to progress. These big bad bosses guard key items you'll need to explore deeper into the world. Time to gear up and show them what you're made of!
King Slime
A massive blue slime, with 2,000/2,800/3,570 health, appears by using a Slime Crown, defeating 150 (or 75 if already defeated) slimes during Slime Rain, or rarely in the outer thirds of the map.
Eye of Cthulhu
A colossal eyeball, with 2,800/3,640/4,641 health, spawns at night when a player has 200+ max health, over 10 defense, and there are 3 or more NPCs in houses.
Eater of Worlds
A massive worm, boasting 10,050/15,120/19,224 health, emerges upon breaking every third Shadow Orb or using Worm Food.
Brain of Cthulhu
A large flying brain, with 1,250/2,125/2,709 health, appears when breaking every third Crimson Heart or using a Bloody Spine, boasting the lowest boss health.
Queen Bee
A massive bee, boasting 3,400/4,760/6,069 health, is summoned by destroying a Larva within Bee Hives in the Underground Jungle or using an Abeemination anywhere in the Jungle biome.
Skeletron
A large skeletal head with 4,400/8,800/11,220 health and two hands is summoned by cursing the Old Man at the Dungeon entrance at night. It can also be summoned again by killing the Clothier with the Clothier Voodoo Doll at night.
Deerclops
A large one-eyed deer with 7,000/11,900/15,172 health can spawn at midnight during a Blizzard if a player has 9 defense or 200 health. If Deerclops was defeated before, there's a 1/4 (25%) chance. It can also be summoned using a Deer Thing in the Snow biome at any time.
Wall of Flesh
A massive wall with 8,000/11,200/14,280 health is summoned by throwing a Guide Voodoo Doll into lava while the Guide is alive. Defeating it triggers irreversible Hardmode.
Hardmode Bosses:
Once you've defeated the Wall of Flesh, you'll unlock Hardmode in Terraria! This introduces stronger enemies, biomes and ores. It also means brand new bosses to battle. These Hardmode bosses will really test your mettle, so prepare well before facing them.
Queen Slime
A colossal slime boasting 18,000/28,800/36,720 health is encountered at the onset of Hardmode, summoned from Gelatin Crystals in the Underground Hallow.
The Twins
The cybernetic Eyes of Cthulhu, Retinazer (20,000/30,000/38,250 health) and Spazmatism (23,000/34,500/43,987 health), are summoned at night using a Mechanical Eye.
The Destroyer
A colossal mechanized Eater of Worlds with 80,000/120,000/153,000 health is considered the easiest Hardmode boss by many. It is summoned using a Mechanical Worm crafted and used anywhere, but only at night.
Skeletron Prime
A weaponized mechanical Skeletron variant has a head with 28,000/42,000/53,550 health and four limbs—a vice, laser gun, saw, and cannon. Skeletron Prime, with a total of 59,000/88,500/112,836 health, is summoned using a Mechanical Skull at night.
Mechdusa
A fusion of the three Mechanical bosses (The Twins, The Destroyer and Skeletron Prime) with combined health is summoned exclusively using Ocram's Razor on the "Everything" World seed.
Plantera
A colossal flower boasting 30,000/42,000/53,549 health is summoned by destroying a Plantera's Bulb. These bulbs appear in the Underground Jungle after defeating all three mechanical bosses.
Golem
A substantial boss with a total of 60,000/90,000/114,749 health can be summoned by using a Lihzahrd Power Cell at the Lihzahrd Altar located in the Jungle Temple.
Duke Fishron
A hybrid creature, combining features of a shark, pig, and dragon, has 60,000/78,000/99,450 health. It emerges by using a Truffle Worm as bait while fishing in the Ocean.
Empress of Light
A boss imbued with Hallow essence, boasting 70,000/98,000/124,950 health, is summoned by defeating a Prismatic Lacewing. This optional encounter is one of the two Hallowed bosses in the game.
Lunatic Cultist
A moderately sized boss with 32,000/48,000/99,450 health can be summoned by defeating the four cultists positioned at the Dungeon entrance following the defeat of Golem.
Moon Lord
The ultimate boss in Terraria, responsible for dropping numerous endgame items like the Meowmere and Luminite ore for crafting advanced gear, is summoned by defeating all four Celestial Pillars during the Lunar Events or by using a Celestial Sigil. It possesses a combined health of 145,000/217,500/277,311, ranking as the second-highest health boss in the game.
Event Bosses:
In Terraria, event bosses are distinct adversaries that emerge during temporary events and invasions. Confronting these bosses poses a unique challenge, demanding specific strategies for victory. However, the rewards reaped from overcoming these challenges make the effort truly worthwhile!
Dark Mage
A miniboss featured in the ultimate wave of the Old One's Army Tier 1 event exhibits three distinct attacks. It can unleash dark energy projectiles, summon a healing rune benefiting nearby enemies, or summon multiple Old One's Skeletons in its proximity.
Ogre
In the concluding wave of the Old One's Army Tier 2 event, a mini-boss emerges with three distinctive attacks. It can hurl sticky snot to inflict Oozed, leap into the air, creating a damaging shockwave upon landing, and swing its substantial club at enemies within its reach.
Betsy
A boss encountered in the ultimate wave of the Old One's Army Tier 3 event behaves akin to Duke Fishron, employing swift dashes and spewing streams of flames. Additionally, it showcases distinct attacks such as launching fireballs at its targets and summoning two Etherian Wyverns to fight alongside it.
Flying Dutchman
The mini-boss encountered in the Pirate Invasion emerges when 65% of the invasion is completed. It orchestrates an onslaught by summoning various Pirate enemies to assail the player. The mini-boss features four cannons that relentlessly fire cannonballs, mimicking the mechanics seen with the Martian Saucer, and these cannons must be destroyed before it can be defeated.
Mourning Wood
A mini-boss that appears in the Pumpkin Moon event shoots flaming projectiles at the player, capable of passing through blocks. Additionally, it ejects a stream of flaming spikes from its head, leaving them on the ground for a duration and causing fire damage upon contact.
Pumpking
The second and ultimate mini-boss in the Pumpkin Moon event, known as the Pumpking, can have multiple instances simultaneously, with up to six appearing at the final fifteenth wave (or even more in multiplayer). The mini-boss is equipped with two scythe-wielding arms that swing and shoot projectiles at the player, reminiscent of the attack pattern observed in Skeletron.
Everscream
A mini-boss encountered in the Frost Moon event alternates between firing pine needle projectiles and dropping bouncing ornaments on the ground, which burst into shards upon impact.
Santa-NK1
A Frost Moon event mini-boss engages in rapid bullet fire from its chain gun, releases descending presents with parachutes, and shoots rockets that penetrate blocks. In its second form, the mini-boss unveils a robotic face as its initial appearance vanishes.
Ice Queen
The third and ultimate mini-boss featured in the Frost Moon event, known as the Ice Queen, can have multiple instances appearing simultaneously. Its attacks include spinning while rapidly firing ice bolts in various directions and shooting multiple ice waves at the player.
Martian Saucer
A large flying mini-boss in the Martian Madness event has two forms. In the first form, players must destroy its turrets before damaging its core. It cycles through three attacks, firing lasers, homing rockets, and a large bottom laser. In Expert Mode, after the turrets are down, it aggressively chases and attacks the player with a death ray.
Celestial Pillars
Four bosses emerging after defeating the Lunatic Cultist during the Lunar Events, are stationed at four evenly spaced locations across the map. Although they remain stationary, they slightly bob up and down. Each pillar governs a circular region with a radius of 250 tiles (500 feet) around it. When within this zone, the background transforms to a pillar-specific theme, and only enemies related to that pillar spawn in abundance.
They consist of the Solar, Vortex, Nebula, and Stardust Pillars. Their dropped fragments enable the crafting of gear aligned with the four damage types in Terraria: Solar for melee, Vortex for ranged, Nebula for magic, and Stardust for summoning.

Preparing Your Terraria World for Epic Boss Battles
To take on Terraria's epic boss battles, you need to be prepared! Building the perfect arena is key to victory.
Gather Resources
Stock up on tonnes of ammo, potions, and anything else that could give you an edge. You never know how long these fights might last, so overprepare! Farm ore and bars to craft the best armour and weapons you can. The better your gear, the better your chances.
Build a Multi-Level Arena
Construct a massive arena with multiple levels of platforms at varying heights. This gives you room to manoeuvre and dodge attacks while still being able to rain down destruction from above. Leave plenty of open space between platforms in case you need to make a quick escape from enemies below.
Include Campfires and Heart Lanterns
Place campfires and heart lanterns around your arena for health regeneration. The longer you can stay in the fight, the more opportunities you'll have to chip away at the boss's health. These boosts, combined with potions, can make a huge difference.
Consider a Hell Bridge
If you're gearing up to battle bosses in The Underworld like the Wall of Flesh, a hell bridge can be invaluable. Build a long bridge across lava lakes so you can focus on the boss instead of navigation. Gravitation potions also help with mobility in Hell.
