On our own 12 slot demo server, a fresh world used about 1GB of memory with nobody online. FAQ

Palworld Server Hosting FAQ

Getting Started

How fast is Palworld server setup?

+
Instantly. Your Palworld server is activated as soon as payment completes, and your control panel login and connection details arrive within seconds. The server starts on the current version of Palworld, so your group can join straight away and add settings, mods or your old world afterwards.

What is Palworld server hosting?

+
Palworld server hosting is a rented, always-online dedicated server for Palworld, the creature-collecting survival game from Pocketpair. GTX Gaming runs your Palworld dedicated server in a datacentre 24 hours a day with DDoS protection, automatic backups and a control panel, so your friends can catch Pals, build bases and take on bosses in the same world whenever they like, without anyone having to host it from their own game.

How do I join my Palworld server?

+
Start Palworld, choose Join Multiplayer Game, enter your server's IP address and port and connect, then type the password if you set one. The IP address and port are shown in your control panel. To show your server in the in-game community server list as well, turn on the community server setting in Start.bat.

Can Xbox, PS5 and Mac players join my Palworld server?

+
Yes. Pocketpair's server documentation lists Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac as the platforms a dedicated server accepts by default, through the CrossplayPlatforms setting, so friends on all four can play in the same world. Everyone needs the same version of Palworld as the server. Mods are a PC feature: server-side mods run only on the Windows dedicated server, and Xbox and PS5 players cannot use mods, so a vanilla server is the safe choice for a mixed group.

Is my Palworld server ready for Palworld 1.0?

+
Yes. Palworld left Early Access with version 1.0 on 10 July 2026, and your server runs the current release: the latest patch when we wrote this in October 2026 was v1.0.5, from 15 September 2026. Steam Update in your control panel keeps the server on the newest version, and Scheduled Tasks can update it automatically, with warning messages for your players. In-game voice chat, new in 1.0, works only when it is enabled in a dedicated server's world settings.

Can I upload my existing Palworld world?

+
Yes. Take a backup first, then upload your world's save files (.sav) with the File Manager or SFTP and select the world in GameUserSettings.ini, which sets the world your server loads. Our knowledgebase covers file access and SFTP step by step, and our 24/7 support team can help with the move.
Mods & Settings

Can I install mods on my Palworld server?

+
Yes, in two ways. The Mod Manager installs UE4SS Experimental, the UE4SS mod loader, in one click; it is not preinstalled, so your server stays vanilla until you choose, and mods for it come from Nexus Mods. You can also use Pocketpair's official server mod system: install Steam Workshop mods with the Steam Workshop tool and switch them on in PalModSettings.ini. Only mods built for servers work, and game updates can break mods, so stop the server and take a backup before you install any.

How do I stop cheaters on my Palworld server?

+
Install PalDefender Anti-Cheat from the Mod Manager in one click. PalDefender is a community anti-cheat that adds server-side validation checks to block known cheats and exploits. As a community tool it can produce false positives and, in some cases, crashes, so stop the server and take a backup before installing it. For a private server, set a server password in PalWorldSettings.ini, and ban players by their Steam64ID in banlist.txt.

What is Palworld Commander?

+
Palworld Commander is GTX Gaming's own all-in-one server management and statistics web panel for Palworld, with a live map of your world. It is exclusive to GTX Gaming and installed by default on new servers. Open it from your control panel menu, change its settings in its config.json under Configuration Files, and install or remove it in the Mod Manager.

How do I change my Palworld server settings?

+
In Configuration Files. Stop the server, then open PalWorldSettings.ini with the Config Editor or the Text Editor to set your server name, description, server password, admin password, PvP, death penalty and multipliers such as EXP gain and capture rate. Start.bat holds the community server and player slot settings, and Engine.ini adjusts the server's FPS tickrate settings. Start the server again to apply your changes.

How do I become an admin on my Palworld server?

+
Stop the server, set an AdminPassword in PalWorldSettings.ini and start it again. Then join, open the chat and type /AdminPassword followed by your password. You can now use admin commands such as /ShowPlayers, /KickPlayer, /BanPlayer, /Broadcast, /Save and /Shutdown, or run them from the Web Console in your control panel.
Server & Sizing

How many players can join my Palworld server?

+
Up to 32, the most a Palworld dedicated server allows. Our plans run from 10 to 32 slots: 10 or 12 slots for a group of friends, 16 for a guild, and 24 or 32 for a busy community world. You can change your slot count at any time from your client area without losing your world.

How much RAM does a Palworld server need?

+
Every server includes up to 10GB of RAM, which suits a small group on a vanilla world. Pocketpair recommends 16GB of memory for a dedicated server, and 32GB or more for larger servers, and warns that 8GB boots but makes out-of-memory crashes more likely. So choose more for a busy or modded world: our Recommended plan has 12GB and Ultra 16GB, and you can pick up to 32GB at checkout. On our own 12 slot demo server, a fresh world used about 1GB of memory with nobody online. The control panel shows live memory use, and you can change your RAM at any time from your client area.

Which locations can I host a Palworld server in?

+
21 locations worldwide: London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Madrid and Poland in Europe; New York, Ashburn, Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, Portland and Quebec in North America; Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore and Mumbai in Asia-Pacific; plus Moscow. Some locations carry a surcharge, shown at checkout. Run the ping test on this page to find your lowest-latency location, then pick it during checkout.

Which Palworld server location should I choose?

+
The one closest to most of your players, because a shorter distance means lower ping in raids and boss fights. Run the live ping test on this page from each player's PC, pick the location with the best result at checkout, and if your group changes later, our support team can move your server.
Pricing & Billing

How much does Palworld server hosting cost in the UK?

+
GTX Gaming Palworld server hosting starts at £9.99/mo for the Basic plan with 10 slots and 10GB of RAM, with up to 100GB of NVMe storage included. The Recommended plan with 16 slots and 12GB of RAM is £21.93/mo, and Ultra, with 32 slots, 16GB of RAM and High CPU Priority, is £38.24/mo. There are no setup fees and no contracts, so you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time.

Is renting a Palworld server better than hosting one for free?

+
Pocketpair's dedicated server software is free, so hosting at home costs nothing up front. But the PC has to stay on around the clock, you have to forward UDP port 8211 on your router, and Pocketpair recommends a 4-core CPU and 16GB of memory for the server alone. A rented Palworld server stays online 24/7 on datacentre hardware with DDoS protection, automatic backups and 24/7 support, so your group can play whenever they like.

What is your refund policy?

+
We offer a 24-hour money-back guarantee on Palworld server hosting. If your server isn't right for you within the first 24 hours of order, contact us for a full refund, no questions asked.

Do you offer monthly Palworld server hosting with no contract?

+
Yes. Every GTX Gaming Palworld server can be billed monthly with no minimum contract and no setup fee, and you can change your slots, RAM, CPU priority or storage, or cancel, at any time from your client area. Three-month, six-month and yearly billing cycles are also available with discounts of 5%, 10% and 15%.
The Complete Guide

The Complete Guide to Palworld Server Hosting in the UK & Worldwide

Everything you need to know before you rent a Palworld server in the UK or any of GTX Gaming's worldwide locations, from Palworld 1.0, joining and crossplay to settings, uploading your world, mods, Palworld Commander, backups, slots, pricing and locations.

What Is Palworld Server Hosting?

Palworld server hosting is a managed service that runs a Palworld dedicated server on professional hardware in a datacentre, around the clock, so your friends can keep catching Pals, running bases and fighting bosses whether or not you are online. Every GTX Gaming Palworld server includes up to 10GB of RAM, up to 100GB of NVMe storage, automatic backups, enterprise DDoS protection and a web control panel, so jobs like changing settings, uploading a world or adding mods take a few clicks instead of an evening of config files.

People search for it as a Palworld dedicated server, a Palworld game server or simply a Palworld server to rent, and they all mean the same thing: a private, always-on home for your own Palworld server, with your world, your mods and your rules.

What Is Palworld?

Palworld is the open-world survival and crafting game from Pocketpair, who develop and publish it: catch creatures called Pals, then fight, farm, build and work alongside them, alone or with friends. It launched in Early Access in January 2024 and left it with the 1.0 release on 10 July 2026. On 8 July 2026, Pocketpair said 40 million players had played Palworld.

  • Creature collecting meets survival: catch Pals, breed them, ride them and put them to work in your bases.
  • Built for co-op: share one world, one guild and every base with your friends.
  • Crossplay: players on Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac can meet on the same dedicated server.
  • Still growing: 1.0 added 72 new Pals for 287 in total, and patches have kept coming since.

Palworld 1.0: What It Means for Your Server

Palworld 1.0 is the biggest update the game has had. Pocketpair's official changelog of 10 July 2026 lists, among much more:

  • Sunreach: floating sky islands with new Pals, tower bosses and special ores.
  • The World Tree: the area where the Palworld story reaches its finale.
  • 72 new Pals: 287 in total, plus Awakening and Mutation to make your Pals even stronger.
  • A higher level cap: the player level cap rose from 65 to 80.
  • A bigger world: Ancient Ruins, Watchtowers that double as fast travel points, 7 new small islands, new settlements and overhauled Wildlife Sanctuaries.
  • Better multiplayer: in-game voice chat, available only when it is enabled in a dedicated server's world settings, guild roles and permissions, and easier server joining with password saving and IP address input.

Several changes matter directly to server owners. The save process was improved to reduce the risk of save data corruption, a server address hiding mode was added for streamers, and dedicated server processing was optimised for situations with many players. Patches have continued since: the latest when we wrote this in October 2026 was v1.0.5, from 15 September 2026. Steam Update in your control panel installs each new version, and Scheduled Tasks can do it automatically.

Why Rent a Palworld Server?

Pocketpair makes the Palworld dedicated server free, so you could run it on a spare machine at home. Most groups rent a Palworld server instead, for reasons that show up within the first week:

  • Always online: the world keeps running 24 hours a day, so anyone in your group can log in, tend the base and keep breeding without waiting for the host.
  • Nothing to run at home: no port to forward on your router and no PC left on overnight. Pocketpair's own requirements ask for a CPU with 4 cores or more and 16GB of memory for the server alone.
  • Room for everyone: from 10 slots for a group of friends to the full 32 players a Palworld server allows.
  • Proper hardware: high-frequency CPUs and NVMe storage in a datacentre, with DDoS protection at the network edge.
  • Backups and support: automatic backups and a 24/7 support team mean a corrupted save or a griefed base is an inconvenience, not the end of your playthrough.

How to Set Up & Join Your Palworld Server

Your server is set up the moment you order. From there, getting your group into the world typically looks like this:

  • Order: choose your plan and your location, and your server is ready within seconds.
  • Name it: stop the server, set the server name, description and password in PalWorldSettings.ini, then start it again.
  • List it, if you like: turn on the community server setting in Start.bat to show your server in the in-game community server list.
  • Join: in Palworld, choose Join Multiplayer Game, enter your server's IP address and port and connect.

Palworld's default port is UDP 8211, but your server may use a different one, so always copy the full address from your control panel. Palworld 1.0 made joining easier, with password saving and better IP address input, and the Web Console shows the server's own output, so you can see the moment the world has loaded.

Crossplay: Steam, Xbox, PS5 & Mac on One Server

A dedicated server is the easiest way for a mixed group to play together. Pocketpair's server documentation lists a CrossplayPlatforms setting whose default is Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac, so players on all four platforms can share one dedicated server out of the box. To limit who can join, edit the list in PalWorldSettings.ini.

Two things to know. Everyone needs the same version of Palworld as the server, so after a patch, update the server and ask your players to update their games. And mods are a PC feature: server-side mods run only on the Windows dedicated server, and Xbox and PS5 players cannot use mods, so keep a mixed crossplay group on a vanilla server. Our knowledgebase has a step-by-step guide to hosting a crossplay Palworld server.

PalWorldSettings.ini, Passwords & World Settings

Your server's rules live in Configuration Files in the control panel. Stop the server before you change PalWorldSettings.ini, then start it again to apply your changes. The files you will use most:

  • PalWorldSettings.ini: the server name, description, server password and admin password, and world settings such as PvP, the death penalty, EXP gain, capture rate and day length, plus in-game voice chat. Edit it with the Config Editor or the Text Editor.
  • Start.bat: the community server setting and the player slots.
  • GameUserSettings.ini: the world name, which selects the world your server loads.
  • Engine.ini: adjust the server's FPS tickrate settings.
  • banlist.txt: ban players by their Steam64ID.
  • Backup.bat: the server's automatic backup system.

Our knowledgebase explains the settings in how to change your Palworld server settings, and admins can run the in-game commands listed in our Palworld admin commands guide.

Palworld Admin Commands: Quick Reference

To use admin commands, set an admin password (AdminPassword) in PalWorldSettings.ini and restart the server. Then join, open the chat and type /AdminPassword followed by your password. These are the server commands Pocketpair documents for the Palworld dedicated server:

  • /ShowPlayers: list everyone online, with the IDs the other commands need.
  • /KickPlayer [SteamID] and /BanPlayer [SteamID]: remove or ban a player; /UnBanPlayer [SteamID] lifts a ban.
  • /TeleportToPlayer [SteamID] and /TeleportToMe [SteamID]: jump to a player, or bring them to you.
  • /Broadcast [message]: send a message to every player on the server.
  • /Save saves the world straight away, and /Info shows the server information.
  • /Shutdown [seconds] [message]: shut the server down after a countdown, with a warning for your players; /DoExit force-stops it.
  • /ToggleSpectate: switch to spectator mode (admins only).

You do not have to be in game to run them: the Web Console and Web RCON in your control panel send commands from your browser, and Scheduled Tasks handle routine restarts and backups for you. Step-by-step help is in our Palworld admin commands guide.

Uploading Your Existing Palworld World

Already playing a world in co-op or with another host? You do not have to start again:

  • Back it up: keep a copy of your world before you move it, and take a backup of the server with the Backup Manager.
  • Upload it: copy your world's save folder, with its .sav files, to the server with the File Manager, or with SFTP if you prefer a desktop client.
  • Select it: set the world in GameUserSettings.ini, then start the server.

Moving from another host works the same way, and our 24/7 support team can help with the whole move. Our guides cover accessing your server files and connecting over SFTP.

Palworld Mods: UE4SS, Steam Workshop & PalDefender

The Mod Manager in your control panel installs the main server tools in one click. Apart from Palworld Commander, nothing is preinstalled, so your server stays vanilla until you decide otherwise:

  • UE4SS Experimental: the UE4SS mod loader. Install it from the Mod Manager, then add mods from Nexus Mods by following our UE4SS mods guide.
  • Steam Workshop: Pocketpair's official server mod system runs Steam Workshop mods on the Windows dedicated server. Install them with the Steam Workshop tool in your control panel and switch them on in PalModSettings.ini. Only mods built to run on servers work.
  • PalDefender Anti-Cheat: a community anti-cheat that adds server-side validation checks to block known cheats and exploits. False positives and crashes are possible, so test it before you rely on it.

The panel gives a fair warning with every mod: Palworld updates often, and updates can break mods, so after each update come back to the panel to update them, and always stop the server and take a full backup before installing anything. Pocketpair also says mods are used at your own risk and may cause crashes or corrupt save data.

Palworld Commander: Live Map & Server Stats

Palworld Commander is our own all-in-one server management and statistics web panel for Palworld, exclusive to GTX Gaming. It is installed by default on new servers, shows your world on a live map and keeps your server's statistics in one place in your browser. Open it from the control panel menu, change its settings in config.json under Configuration Files, and install or remove it in the Mod Manager.

Backups, Updates, Restarts & Discord Alerts

Palworld updates often, and a good routine keeps your world safe:

  • Backups: Backup.bat runs the server's automatic backup system, and the Backup Manager takes and restores backups whenever you want. See managing your Palworld backups.
  • Scheduled Tasks: automatic updates, restarts and backups on a timer.
  • Warning messages: Service Settings send scheduled restart and update warnings to your players, set up in automatic updates with warning messages.
  • Discord: post your server's messages to a Discord channel through a webhook, as explained in Discord notification messages.
  • Web Console and Web RCON: run server commands from your browser, and follow the Log Viewer and the live graphs.

How Much Does Palworld Server Hosting Cost in the UK?

Pricing is simple: you choose your slots and your memory, with up to 10GB of RAM and up to 100GB of NVMe storage included on every server:

  • Basic, 10 slots and 10GB: from £9.99/mo. A group of friends sharing one world.
  • 12 slots: from £11.82/mo. A bigger group of friends.
  • Recommended, 16 slots and 12GB: £21.93/mo. Guilds, busy worlds and mods.
  • 24 slots: from £19.94/mo. Community worlds.
  • Ultra, 32 slots, 16GB and High CPU Priority: £38.24/mo. Full servers with every slot in use.

Every slot tier is in the full plan list at the top of this page, and you can build your own mix at checkout. All plans include instant setup, DDoS protection, automatic backups and 24/7 support, with no setup fee and no contract. Billing is monthly by default, with three-month, six-month and yearly cycles at 5%, 10% and 15% off, and you can change plan or cancel at any time.

How Many Slots & How Much RAM Does a Palworld Server Need?

Choose a slot for every player who will be online at the same time. A Palworld dedicated server allows up to 32 players, so 10 or 12 slots suit a group of friends, 16 a guild and 24 or 32 a busy community world. Memory matters more than slots: Pocketpair's official server requirements recommend a CPU with 4 cores or more and 16GB of memory, with 32GB or more for larger servers, and warn that 8GB boots but makes out-of-memory crashes more likely. On our own 12 slot demo server, a fresh world used about 1GB of memory with nobody online, with the CPU near idle. The included 10GB suits a small group on a vanilla world; for a busy or modded world choose more, where 16GB matches Pocketpair's recommendation. The control panel shows live memory use, and you can change your RAM at any time, up to 32GB.

Locations for Palworld Server Hosting

Raids and boss fights are no fun with lag, so host close to your players. GTX Gaming runs Palworld server hosting from a UK datacentre in London plus 20 more locations worldwide: Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Madrid and Poland in Europe; New York, Ashburn, Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, Portland and Quebec in North America; Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore and Mumbai in Asia-Pacific; plus Moscow. Some locations carry a surcharge, shown at checkout. Use the live ping test above to find the lowest-latency location for your group, pick it at checkout, and if you need to move later our support team can migrate your server.

Best Palworld Server Hosting: What to Compare Before You Rent

Most Palworld server rental offers look alike at first glance. These are the things that decide how your world actually plays once your group moves in:

  • Memory, not just slots: Palworld is memory-hungry, and Pocketpair recommends 16GB for a dedicated server, with 32GB or more for larger servers. Check how much RAM a plan really includes. Every GTX Gaming Palworld server includes up to 10GB, and you can add more at checkout.
  • CPU: big bases full of working Pals and a full server lean on the processor, so look for high-frequency CPUs. Our Ultra plan adds High CPU Priority on top.
  • Location: ping decides how raids and boss fights feel. Pick a host with a datacentre close to your group: we run Palworld servers across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific (see Locations).
  • Crossplay and mods: a dedicated server should accept Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac players by default and install mods without manual file work. Ours installs UE4SS, Steam Workshop mods and PalDefender in one click.
  • Control and tools: full access to PalWorldSettings.ini, backups you can restore yourself, scheduled restarts and RCON. GTX Gaming adds Palworld Commander, our own live map and stats panel.
  • Billing and refunds: monthly billing with no contract, no setup fee and a 24-hour money-back guarantee, so you can try a Palworld dedicated server without risk.
